If anyone happens to watch the game tonight, I will be sitting in section 11 right behind the Yankee dugout wearing a tan MN Gophers cap and a blue shirt. My son just surprised me with tickets for an early Father's Day gift.
![]() First trip to the new stadium, too. Looking forward to those $7-$8 beers and $9 cheeseburgers. ![]() And, canceled after 5 innings due to rain...... rain was coming down pretty good from the top of the 3rd, but they stuck with it to get 5 innings in before calling. Unfortunately, no score after 5 so they will be playing the remaining four innings tomorrow afternoon before the night game. And, only folks with tickets for tomorrow night's game can get in early to see it, since those present at tonight's game got to see five innings of play for their ticket cost. ![]() Last edited by Bylimet Spiritwalker; 05-25-2010 at 10:17 PM.. |

Should have made a retractable roof stadium like Miller Park!! No rain days ever again.

Actually, being such a new stadium experience for many ball fans, there was not a lot of complaining going on.....it is part of having outdoor baseball again. And the stadium is so damn nice, spending five innings and getting rained out was still a great time for me.

I made a pact with my son at that game that WE WOULD take in a game at Wrigley field. It is one of the only old-school fields left, and it is full of baseball tradition, just like the old Yankee stadium was. Even though we won two world series in the metro-dome, it never felt like it carried any strong tradition or memories. |
