I downloaded some Torrent AVi files that dont seem to be playing, is there a way to find out what specific kind of file they are, I have already searched for supposed better video players but they dont work either.

You try VLC media player? That seems to play anything without downloading codecs.

Google VLC, first download that comes up. It plays everything I can think of to throw at it, music, video or otherwise.

www.videohelp.com is a good site for help. VLC is great though.
