Default California Recall -- wierd

"If elected, I will resign"

homepage.mac.com/brianfle...80403.html

So, what is going on in California?

www.guardian.co.uk/uslate...51,00.html

... which seems fishy.

So, they have someone everyone hates in the govorner office.

Someone managed to get 12% of the voters at the last election to sign a petition to have a recall vote.

The recall vote works like:
You have to answer two questions:
1> Do you want to recall Davis?
2> Who would you choose to replace him, from this list of 300 names.

If more than 50% answer "yes" to question one, the person with the highest % of votes to question two becomes govorner. Davis is barred from including his name in the question two list.

This apparently doesn't replace the next-in-line person for the governorship.

The winner of this recall may be recalled if someone gathers 12% of the votes cast in this recall in a petition, or something like that. Democrats have threatened to recall anyone who wins this recall (because all signs say any such person will have well less than 50% of the vote).

Some fear this could result in a state of perma-election.

No high-prestigue democrat is running against Davis. Unless you count Larry (Hustler publisher).

So, anyone from california want to give better information that what I managed to dredge up?

Seems to me there is a major flaw in the election laws.
Nothing new there.
They just now starting to abuse it, I wonder what took them so long.

Fuck governor, Arnie for president!

Just imagine the foreign relations!
- "Listen to me you have to get out of here now!"
And
- "The best things in life are to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women".

Default hah.

as much as you guys may joke, he would be a much better governer than davis

i live in california, davis is a fucken fag. I have to pay 3 times more for registration, I can barely get into the classes I need, there should be a 3rd choice on the ballot, execution....

Realistically all "professional" politicians are scumbags and out to get their own share. Ronald Reagen was an excellent governer and he was basically in the same position as Arnold. Arnold though is an immigrate who made it big in America, he has some experience of being in the lower class, and some in the upper class (prolly some in the middle). I personally think he would actually listen to the people and try, unlike Davis or another "professional" politician who would just fuck us over some more.
