[EQ2] Live Events/GM Events

Looks like we will start seeing some with Live Update #6, something about the Plague.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to welcome you to the new Live Events area of our boards. The purpose of these boards is to discuss the Live Events that have been and will be held in EverQuest II. These events are more commonly known in the community as “GM Events.” With the recent launch of the Bloodline Chronicles we decided to run our first series of these Live Events in order to introduce you guys to the direction we are looking to take with dynamic content in-game. These events included new NPCs added to the cities, as well as real people playing afflicted individuals and interacting with the players.

It also was a great opportunity to introduce you guys to the EverQuest II Guides. Continuing in the tradition of the original EverQuest, we have a group of volunteer guides that will be running these events with our game masters in the new lands of Norrath. Their commitment to the players has been one of the big cornerstones of the strength of our community, and it’s important that their contribution is recognized. There are over a hundred of them that participated in the Bloodline Chronicles Live Event on the English-language servers, and we hope to add French and German guide programs in the future as well.

Our intention with this game has always been to pioneer and lead the way in this industry and we intend to continue that tradition with Live Events. We plan on offering an unprecedented amount of Live Content in EverQuest II. In order to do so, we’re going to need your help. If you participated in the events leading up to the Bloodline Chronicles or just have some ideas on what you’d like to see created dynamically in-game, please feel free to post these suggestions here. Your feedback will be incredibly valuable in helping us bring the Shattered Lands alive.

Make sure you guys keep your eyes open when Live Update #6 arrives. Our next Live Event will begin soon, and it will be the first of many more to come.
