On the patcher, select the option to patch files while running the game, then try running the everquest2.exe file directly from your EQ2 folder:

"everquest2.exe" in c:\program files\sony\everquest

Ninja Edit. I found it and it still did the same thing.
Clicked the download while playing.

Are you using Vista by chance? B/C I had major issues with the patcher. If you have Vista you can either disable UAC or run program as admin you click the eq2 icon. You also have to change the compatiability to XP SP2. EQ2 and Vista suck together and not in a good way. I kept getting to one file on the patcher and it would just sit there or keep downloading it over and over.

If after it cancels the DL and I hit download again it picks up where it left off, so it looks like im gonna have to sitht here for 2+ hours reclicking DL.

Is your firewall install? Make sure you dont have any firewalls running. This could be the cause of it.
