Default Everquest 2 Severs

They appear to be mergeing EQ2 servers and allowing server transfers while this takes place was curious if anyone would be interested in geting together on a server

i currently play a Swashbuckler on Oggok

yeah I wish I had only known they were giong to do this
I just paid to transfer from Mistmoore to Neriak and now Neriak is being merged with Kithicor. Ah well.

THey said it is becaus they want to make the servers more competitive which means yeah they dont have enough peeps at the moment to keep all the servers up... oh well once the next batch of big games comes out .. pirates of the Burning sea and Vanguard.. WOW is gonna have to do the same thing I betcha.

Hehe, with Wow they'll just have to cut the server creation process down to 1 new server a week.

Aye, EQ2 has like 500k subscribers, Wow has like 5million - its not the same scale

They also explain that they started with 360 zones and have 600 now, so population is getting too sparse.

The zone argument is a poor one. Many, perhaps most, of those added zones are instanced -- the kind of place players might visit once or twice and move on. They aren't places you go looking for groups. Second, the concentration of players is within the high end zones, and merging will only result in over crowding in those places. Hopefully the new expansion will have enough zones to alleviate the bottleneck. I'd be far happier if they just skipped the merger altogether, but looks like we're stuck with it.
