As a huge Basketball fan I've been on top of this story, and not sure how its going to go. Considering the high profile nature of the case there is no way the evidance comes down to he said she said. Obviously the DA has physical evidance of some form of Assult.

On the other hand I tend to side with Kobe and as much as I despise him as a player cause I'm a die hard VC fan I due hope he wins this case.

Lastly I feel bad for the girl at the moment. She is getting crucified and who knows she might be telling the truth and thats for a court to decide but on my local BBall website I post on they had links to pictures of her from College or highschool not sure which and even more alarming some asshat had put up her phone number up on the web.

Hopefully it all gets settled and the lakers still lose!

With the amount of power and money Kobe has, I wouldn't be suprised that he DID do it. That type of power corrupts. But this amount of press and stupid bullshit going on is uncalled for. Everyone fucks up.

I met him once at LAX along with Rick Fox and some others, and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

I've heard from friends who ran into him at a club that he was very arrogant, and stuck up.

Plenty of people get accused of rape - guilty or not.

But libel or defamation or whatever the proper term is? Sure, it might dent the guy's paycheck, but he will still get more millions per year than you can shake a stick at; in addition, he'll probably compensate by writing a book afterwards.

As for loss of respect and such... he's a fucking grown man who throws a ball around for a living in a game that is slightly more strategically intensive than Pong (and about as repetitive), devoid of entertaining injuries, and as fun to watch as it is to rub your ass against a cheese grater.
