Default Happy Hour of the Damned

Interesting premise: you find yourself suddenly a zombie, living among a host of varied "night" creatures, and need to feed on human flesh to survive.

Mark Henry approaches the topic with humor, narrating in the first person the story of Amanda Feral. This is his first book, and hopefully his writing style improves as he churns out the second book of what I believe is going to be at least a three part arc.

The book is quirky, and the idea one that opens a lot of possibilities, but I kept getting put off by his insistence on using footnotes to offer definitions, explanations, and additional first-person commentary.

I think many might enjoy the book as a quick read, but I strongly suggest checking with the local library (where I got mine) before spending money on it.

I have only made it halfway through so far, and will probably grab another quick read before I attempt to finish it, so I cannot give a complete review; but, I did want to mention it as it does offer a fun and quirky alternative to the usual fiction offerings. I just don't like the writing style.
