I haven't enjoyed a Harry Potter movie since about the 3rd one, seldom do I enjoy movies about books I've read and reread countless times, simply due to how much they leave out of the movies and how they shift the stories around to fit in the timelines. I'm so glad they did the final book in 2 parts to really do the series justice.

I saw this today Jedd. It. Looks. Awesome.
Had the same feelings from that trailer that I did when watching the trailer for Return of the King. Roll on July!!

I hate Harry Potter from film 1. I really wanted to like it too. I don't see the big to do about these tedious films. LoTR was 1000 times better.

Don't judge this film franchise at the moment based on the early movies. 1 & 2 were for kids. 3 was very well done. 4 onwards has been about dark magic, death, conflict, etc, very much more adult in its theme and far more rewarding. The latest movie was a lot more dark than anything preceeding it, and much the better for it. If you want to judge HP series, I suggest watching the last few films from Order of the Phoenix onward.

Do. And remember, you're not a kiddy-fiddler if you fancy Hermoine by the sixth film! :P

I am very much looking forward to the final chapter of this movie series. I did find Part 1 of Deathly Hallows to be rather boring but I know it was just filler building up for part 2.

I am naming my next dog 'Dobby'.
Seriously, they did a pretty god job of holding true with the book, and those who have read it knew the first half was going to be slow going. The finale is going to be relished the first time round for the simple joy of closure, and then watched again for the nuances missed the first viewing. |
