And yeah, I'm whiter than white . Speaking of social dynamics, if you don't mind my asking, what is the ethnic background of your friend? I'm genuinely curious, largely because I've spent a lot of time teaching in inner city institutions and one all too frequently runs across that particular type of internalized oppression/hypersensitivity. It's a little more interesting if he's assuming that sort of white-male centrism as a member of that group. Care to share?
