Default How fast can we read?!

Simple enough: Do you think we should do two books a month, or one a month? Obviously we can alter things if a book is chosen which is exceptionally long.

Start with 1, if people are finishing early we can bump it to two. You may also set benchmarks per week, like X chapters by 3/7, and so forth so you discuss mid way instead of just at the end.

^^ I agree with Kel. Start out with one then expand if necessary. And I like the benchmark idea too

Hehe, slow for me too. If i have them, i can read 10-15 books a month. Usually only takes me less than a day to finish a mid-size book. Still 2 or so a month is good for most people.

I'd like to participate, but I'm not a very fast "english" reader, not to mention finding the book in time, good thing I know a good english library (thanks for ASOIAF Cat's Whiskers!), so I'll go with one, to have a chance.

Though my work requires me to read about a zillion books a week, that means I'll be happy with 1 book a month - I haven't had time for leisure reading in years. For this I will make the time =)

1 book works for me, as long as it's not "War and Peace" aka a 1000 page monster.....

Alright it looks like we'll be doing one book a month. We can start with February. I'll get the list worked out and figure out a rotation. I realize that one book might not be enough for some people, but there is no reason to not participate! Read the book and then read whatever else you want in your own spare time. Remember, there is now an entire forum for book discussion - it is not just limited to our monthly selection. Make a thread about discworld and go wild.
