Most of the ubers are going to it. They have basically done it all in EQ. The problem I see is that they will blow through the content in WoW pretty quick. I give WoW 6 months before the ubers get bored. By that time EQ will have more content and many will come back. I think you will see the ubers bouncing back and forth between WoW and either EQ or EQ2. These MMO companies really can't create content fast enough for the really hardcore players.

Waiting for EverQuestII myself.
Cartoon graphics just don't cut it for me. And it repeats the EQLive forumla far too much, where-as EQII is taking on a very different approach, which is appealing. Along with the somewhat realistic graphics.

I'm with Halo on this one.
If I want more of the same I'll stick with EQ. And I'll definately play EQ2 at launch. Fandros |

Ditto!
I have a feeling WoW will not be the EQ shatter game everyone expects it to be. My prediction is same thing with AO, UO, AC2 and especially DAOC and SWG. It will pull some people away for a while but they will come back, give it time. P.S diablo sucks after 24 hours. |

They won't be letting us see extreme end-game content before release. By "we", I mean beta testers. Honestly, considering that they deliver new stuff every patch, which makes me just say "wow" (no pun intended, for christ's sake don't even touch on that one). For example, talents basically can tune a character to the feel you want them. Mages get fire, ice, arcane spells, talents in one section specifically will make you want to drop the other 2 for use, except in rare instances (spent points in fire, and are fighting in a fire-based dungeon).
EQ2 seems good now, but the combat system is bordering insane stupidity. Vanguard will be interesting however. Say what you will, but a game based upon the idea of competition will be more interesting, as compared to say EQ2, which is going to be the flowery fru-fru/umbrella in glass type in regards to competition. In the end, I bet I'll be either playing Vanguard. In the meantime, Savage and WoW :/ Quote:

I dunno, I mean Blizzard is known for two things:
a) NEVER, EVER meeting a deadline, which they've missed; and b) Making some awesome freaking games. I have to be honest, EQ was great, but it went to the wayside. SWG is good, but now with the Jedi revamp, well lets just say forget fighting anything the Jedi want cause they'll kill it before you can blink an eye. All the Jedi are now loose and there's no counter measure. Even worse, the quests won't be loaded up for all us non force sensitive types till next patch. So that means another month or so of putting up with being a second class player. Purpose of the previous paragraph? Both games are SOE games, and both games have had Sony screw things up royally. Now EQ has some promising things in the mix as does SWG (the new space combat expansion), but will it be too little, too late? I'm leaning strongly towards playing WoW. If I can get an Open Beta account for EQ2, I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'll leave it on the shelf. Between Sony just being frustrating to deal with and I'm assuming the hardware requirements are going to be out of this world, I just would rather avoid the headache. I've heard nothing but good things about WoW, which doesn't surprise me. Anyhow, just my thoughts... |
