$300 for what size? If in the 22-24" ballpark, that's probably an IPS panel.

Thanks for the infoz guys, for as much as I stare at my monitor I want something good.
Must be nice. Sounds like 1500.00 is right up your alley since you have established money is no object.

I would spend more than 50 dollars on a monitor, btw. Not more than $300.00. Typically means if I want a nice picture than I have to go with something smaller like a 22-23" which is fine because obviously I can't afford a big house to put a big desk into to offer the room for all that display goodness. Life has to have its goals.

Last time I got gouged on a HDMI was because I didn't want to wait for a 10 dollar one from Newegg and thus had to deal with Best Buy, which is a store that I hate with all my soul but its the price paid for convenience. Anyway, that's my advice. Please don't heed it as sometimes I forget that I am now the resident dumbass hick. Thanks for the reminder.

http://www.monoprice.com/ is my go-to place for cables, just FYI. Fuck Best Buy right in their geek squad ass.

How Best Buy gets away with charging what they do for a cable is beyond comprehension. The aforementioned convenience maybe or knowing you can return it if it is defective? The general assumption that people are stupid? Hey, they got me for an HDMI extension cable but I needed it that day.

In the Asian tech markets you can get a USB cable for literally pennies. An HDMI for a few dollars. About 10 RMB in China. Either they work perfectly forever or not at all from day one. Buy two to hedge your bets on a defective one and you still come out ahead. You are still buying China-Craft no matter what.

Thanks for that link, Malse. Did not know that site existed. Newegg has some decent prices if you get the Nippon Labs brand (Named for Japan but made in China lol) for cables but these seem to be even cheaper.
