Due to overwhelming pressure from my daughters, I am being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.
I have been informed that "cool" fathers have MP3 players for their music. Personally, I see nothing wrong with my vinyl albums and 8-tracks... but in the interest of keeping things peaceful, I am looking for an MP3 player. I am looking for: Small... the smaller the better Flash memory instead of a hard drive. ( I have been told that they are sturdier and less likely to die on you... as well as longer battery life) At least 4GB of memory Ability to use it to move data files as well as music Something reasonably priced... preferably under $300 USD And I really don't know what else to ask for..... any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

This is probably too obvious an answer, but I believe the 4GB iPod Nano is going to be as good as anything else out there - very easy to carry around and pretty reliable.

Gandaar, if you're going to stick specifically to flash mp3 players, I'm going to agree with Fandros and say go with the ipod nano. SanDisk is also making a 6 gb flash player (the nano caps at 4 gb, if I'm not mistaken) that might be worth looking into: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=...70&btnG=Search
Happy hunting. ![]()

I have an iPod and freaking love it! I highly recommend them
Find the size and price that's right for you though. They're very easy to use as well.

Remember, MP3s of music you own are perfectly legal for you to possess.
No one on this board sanctions the downloading of illegal music.

I love the versatility of the iPod, it connects to the car stereo and my home stereo or my PC. Some car stereos require extra parts or new stereos but it's still really cool ![]()

iPod all the way. Decent price, good storage space, and high quality sound.

Aye, not only for the product, but for the support you get with an IPod.
We sell them as well as some other companies, including LG and Creative. LG have a great warranty, but you pay WAY too much for little product. My experience with Creative has been quite dismal. It turns out that should your Creative MP3 player break, you have to deal with the manufacturer directly and must pay a $25 fee just to return your broken MP3 player. Pure Garbage and why we've since stopped bringing them in. Apple has excellent support as well as a solid product. Gonna be a sheep here and follow the herd, buy a Nano. ![]() |
