Pending a possible return to EQ, I was wondering what has happened to the economy in the year+ that I've been gone. So, any help/comments would be much appreciated.
I'm trying to think of items that are good indicators of where prices are in general - kind of like the gold standard I guess. Essence emeralds might be the closest thing to that, but if anyone else has a way to sum up a year of changes.... |

Inflation? Everything is way too expensive? Or the opposite?

basically with the huge plat dupe hyper inflation occured. The value of plat bottomed out because they're is such a large amount of it floating around at any given time. The people who have been saving their money for a while have had the value drop out and be left with essentially nothing because the prices have gone up due to the fact that people see that even with 100k items to sell people were snapping them up like party favors with money bought from IGE/@#%$ and raised their prices to match.

because the economy is beginning to stabilize itself perhaps? it will make a new equilibrium with the amount of money + the approx. worth of it.

That and stonewood bows have been farmed to high hell.
Used to be able to sell Shackles of Torment for 200k easy. Then I brought about 15 into the system and you'll be lucky to get 100k. |

Why pay anything for the shackles when you can get the favor points for dirt cheap. Not to hard to rack up 200k favor points.
