Too "informative" to be in nuggets I suppose, here Reuters "Pictures of the year" for 2005 (http://i.today.reuters.com/Pictures/galleries/showcases/showcase_slide.asp?storyID=632702912668906250&urlStr=/pictures/&directory=/configData/Pictures/&edition=US).
Enjoy!

When I saw the Bush/Putin photo, I just hung my head in shame. There's our President, lookin' like an idiot again. I can just see him pulling away from the curb, car hopping, brakes screaching...lurch...lurch...

Some very somber pictures in there.

I like the one where a disabled man came with a donkey pulling him so he could vote.

noticing,... was there a simple, happy moment to be identified in any of these? Madonna giving the bird and Courtney Love being bombed out her mind do not count.
My banner year of busy, hard-working, happiness is not represented here, and the photos missing of helping, smiling, peaceful people speak louder than the situations chosen.

But Flashcube, this is Reuters, not Mother Goose. They deal in news, dealing with things out of the ordinary and things going on. A picture of a happy family with a good job isn't necessarily out of the ordinary or news.

With the way they report the news you'd think it is...

Love reminds me of the girl in High School you could've and thought about nailing but in retrospect are very glad that you never did.

Actually, the photo of the giraffe brought a smile to my face, realizing that they have not all been slaughtered for food yet in a land of famine.

Heh, they said in the picture of the soccer player he was 'heading the ball. That's not a header, thats a guy getting destroyed.
I don't see the point of the pics of madonna and the crackwhore. There's nothing special about the actual pics. I can only see it as "HEY LOOK! CELEBRITIES!"

Yeah, the soccer player...damn. Did you see how misshapen the ball was? That sucker was really moving when it struck him in the face. Ouch!
Madona? Courtney Love? Shock value? I think that was pretty much the theme of the whole slide show.
