Bleh... that means I need to delete some crap to make room to record it in HD....

The first four hours are leaked in HD on torrent sites if you look around. I've watched them. This season may very well raise the bar, even compared to the greatness that were the previous seasons.

Very good episodes last night. Supposed to be even better tonight...
So far it has been a let down for me. I don't get the urgency I usually feel in other seasons...
And is Dr Bashur NOT in anything? isn't he on BSG too? The guy is making some money.... correct me if I am wrong.

And Curtis. You could tell some drama was going to unfold between those two, but damn. Curtis...

Aye Curtis...
Jack's going to need at least a hour away for some "me" time!!
Well now that Jack is mad it may get better. I was surprised to see the Nuc go off. I figured that 'dad' guy was going to do something heroic. The drama factor went up some but nothing like I am used to in previous seasons.

He's not in BSG that I know of. Actually, this is the first thing since DS9 that I remember him being in. Maybe I'm wrong.
Last night's episode... oh my...
Although... it was inevitable that something like that would eventually have to happen to make sure the show retains its "edge".

Jack's brother!
That was a surprise right? I hadn't missed that in other seasons?

Yeah, we didn't know that about him last season. The dirty bastard.

Yeah... that was a shocker. My first reaction, though, was "Damn it, I hope they aren't jumping on the complex and twisted story line band wagon that all the other shows seem to be on."
Before 24 came on, Prison Break was on. My roomate never watched it and I've only seen maybe half the episodes. I was telling him about how complex they made the story line and how exaderated it was. Sometimes stuff like that takes more away from the show than it brings. The show (24) appeals to the "action flick" audience, not the "soap opera" audience. They should keep the plot lines somewhat simple, IMO.
Getting Jacks' dad and his brother in on the show sucks. I continue to be let down this season.
I didn't know that guy was Jacks brother. Thinking back to last season they didn't mention that.... I'm sure it was an after thought.

I'm keeping an open mind, but yes they had best do spectacular things with the family ties for it to not suck.

Well, they sure know how to make a character hateable. I'm not counting it all against the show yet... I mean, the story line seems somewhat simple at the moment. But if they get too complicated with who Grahm is or what he does, its going to lose something.
My wife made the comment that Graham Bauer's son looks alot more like Jack than Graham..... hmmmm whaddya think?
Last nights 24 has got me interested again.... Jack has his work cut out for him. Too bad about Graham though..... :)

Lol... I kinda liked the "everything came down to Graham and the father was innocent" approach. The father being behind it all makes it more complicated than it needs to be.

Morris! Confidense is high he will not arm those nukes (:
I actually saw that coming..... the Morris thing. If he would have just listened to his skinny boss and not left his station they wouldn't be in this predicament.

Hmm... time to revive this. There are some new ones out there since last year. Enjoy.
Here's two that made me laugh:
Withholding information from Jack Bauer is now classified as a suicide attempt.
Superman is one of the few individuals who could possibly survive a confrontation with Jack Bauer. But that is only because he can fly away.
Oh a lot of them made me laugh :)

I feel bad for Morris... but... I think I would have armed the nukes too... ouch.. just ouch.

It would be a rough one to call. On one hand you'd want the pain to stop so you'd want to give them what they wanted, but he KNEW that once they got what they want they didn't have a problem killing someone who was no longer useful. On the other you'd have to live with the possibility of watching a nuke go off in the capital, your favorite arena, and the resulting deaths. Hmmm... I'd like to say I'd sacrifice myself for the greater good, but I've never had a drill bit through the shoulder either. That just sounded painful.

I wonder what form the coup against Palmer will take.
There was so much potential for this season to be unlike any of the previous ones, and it seems like they've really wasted that chance by making Jack go from a broken man to season 5's Jack in just a few hours.
Maybe there's only so much material this show can cover. That or it needs new writers or those writers need to get hopped up on some absinthe and heroin. Something. It just seems like this could easily enough be all the previous seasons on shuffle.

I agree Sanchek... I really didn't like how quickly they got Jack back. I kinda hoped the entire season (at least Jack's part of it) would take place in China.
The nuke going off made me forget about that. Maybe it was intended to...

I think that's probably a staple of the 24 toolbox.
Writer 1: Man, this scene kinda sucks.
Writer 2: Let's add an explosion!
Writer 1: Genius.
Writer 1: Man, this whole season sucks.
Writer 2: NUKE.
Wrtier 1: Sweet.

I think Jack is still broken somewhat. He just gave up last episode and was going to let his dad kill him? uhuh.
Oh Jack seems to want to die. Like he said in the first episode..... he wants to die but at least for *something* and not just for death's sake.
Did 24 come on last night? My Tivo didn't record it... :(

At least the previews for next week's episode showed that all is right in the 24 universe. And for a moment I thought this season wasn't going to have a mole in CTU!

Didn't show a who... just that someone is feeding satalite info to the terrorists. Dun dun dunnn.
I hope its the new field ops guy. I don't like him... as an actor.
you mean the guy from Silver Spoons and made a short run on Scrubs? He almost seems like Jack-light ...
I missed the show where Jack hurt his flank.... how did that happen?

It was while he was in the embassy.
I couldn't stop laughing at the scene where Chloe checked Morris' breath. Hilarious.

I think Milo is the mole, but they seemed to make it so obvious that he is, that I almost want to say he isn't.
Milo took a bullet though..... It is probably Buchanan or some shit like that this time.

03-20-2007, 09:37 PM
It's Morris.
He armed the nukes and he still has the access/ knowledge to block the tracking radar /satellite thingies.
So we still don't know who it is :)
Nanora
03-31-2007, 04:33 PM
It wouldn't need to be Morris since he could have just programmed it on a break or before they got to that point, they wouldn't have had to do the kidnapping/drilling to 'convince' him. Not to mention that Morris was brought up by that broker guy. So unless they are trying to pull a fast one on the audience , a la 'The Sting', I doubt it's Morris. Could be Milo, but it's probably Ricky Schroder, or it could even better be Nadia. Though she was cleared, this sets her up to not be the focus of a future 'issue'. Time will tell.

The episode was okay until the end. The adrenaline thing is not only completely unreasonable, but it reeks of cheap suspense much like the current Lost season and their constant promises of "secrets revealed and charcters dying!" which always end up falling flat on their face.

What could the Chinese possibly want?

I will still say I'm getting tired of the Lost-esque previews. The one showing Jack laying down with Doyle was purposefully misleading but it felt so cheesy. Better to just do away with them all.

Do they end every season with a silent clock? I don't think they do. Every other silent clock has been right after someone important died. Did Jack jump?

No, theres no way. Although... it is getting to the point where everything is played out. It will be very difficult for them to make next season interesting unless they completely get away from the couter terrorism thing for a season. Remember... the show isn't called CTU Los Angelas... it can be the events of any 24 hour day... preferably in Jack Bauer's life.
Was glad to see Doyle taken out though... I disliked the acting from that guy and was afraid they were trying to set him up to be the new Jack Bauer.
I can't believe they popped Milo like that... I actually liked him.
