Anyone else out there watch this one. The new season will start on Sunday the 15th with a 2 hour show and another on Monday the 16th for another 2 hours, and weekly after that on Monday nights.

I'll watch every episode. One of the coolest shows on regular TV imo, however unrealistic it is at times.

Love the show, never miss an episode during the current season.

Haven't gone so far as to buy the past seasons that I missed on DVD. But it is one of the reasons I got TiVo.

24 is unique in that you either watch it all, or you're boned. Fox does a pretty great job with "non-stop seasons" of it.

The Media Center machine is busy this week. The Shield is back on as of tonight mother effers.

I never thought they could pull off showing 1 hour at a time per week, but there are so friggin many story lines, which melt together at the end of the season which makes it interesting the whole season. When I first heard of this I was like a bunch of BS, it will never work. Then got the 1st 5 episodes on the same tape, watched 'em back to back, and haven't skipped an episode.

Watched it for most of season 1... then stopped... never been big on TV shows. Then when I moved in with my current room mate and started following last season. He'd DVR'ed the whole season so I caught up. Looking forward to this season.

I thought the first season was one of the best things I ever saw on TV. Seasons 2-4 were also very good, just not AS good.

It is a little unrealistic but it is just a great show. I can't wait for Sunday.

Anyone else find it odd that as a man who is supposed to be dead he is:

1) still in the country
2) an hour away from LA????

But yeah, wow, totally did not see any of that coming!!

I find it more odd that LA is always the center of some terrorist plot to kill a president or bring death and destruction down upon the infidels.

Anyway, it was refreshing last night to see the supporting characters not acting as stupid as they have in the past. Just a little bit more realistic if that's possible.

Tonight should be fun.

I had a couple problems with the story, but they're minor and I'm glad its back with the action.

My biggest problem was: wasn't Jack a national hero multiple times? Wouldn't this have been covered on the news several times? Wouldn't his face have been everywhere? So, how did they not recognize him a mere hour away from where he used to work?

I mean.. the way they did it worked, but I would have prefered something more creative.

So, is Sean Astin going to be a mole, or is it the guy that was working on Chloe?

Okay, question...

What was the bioweapons doing buried so close to the airport? Secret Govt cache incase of invasion or?

With the Russian sleeper there in baggage, I'm assuming it was smuggled in at some point in the past. Why Palmer alone would know about the sleeper (and the chemicals?) is odd though.

Casting for this show is really good. I'm glad Geraint Wyn Davies got another semi-regular act outside of Canada again. Now if only they'd somehow bring Sebastian Spence on since he's got the connection with Roger Cross.

Not sure about the chemicals, though. If he would have known I doubt that he would have just told the 1st lady. I find it interesting that there were only 4 alive who knew Jack was alive, but yet someone decided to frame him probably not one of the 4. Unless Chloe talks in her sleep. ;)

Once we have it all figured out they will go in a completely different direction. I find it funny how these moles get so friggin high up in government. Like Walt, short of Mike he almost always has the predidents ear. Could kill him and walk away.

Good start to the season, again. Gotta like that...

Palimax Sceleris
01-18-2006, 04:33 PM
The scenes from next week have Jack yelling at Mike demanding to know who he told - so, obviously, the chain of people who know Jack is alive could be pretty long.

(And, of course it is, as "the bad guys" know.)

Nanora
01-18-2006, 04:38 PM
But that could be Jack talking about who gave him up in the airport. Someone rat'd him out on that one.

I'm leaning towards Nan's explanation on that preview. Jack of course will want to know who gave away his position.

My biggest problem was: wasn't Jack a national hero multiple times? Wouldn't this have been covered on the news several times? Wouldn't his face have been everywhere? So, how did they not recognize him a mere hour away from where he used to work?

Jack worked undercover alot, why would they disclose who he is? If they showed a picture of him to the media, he couldn't conduct his job any longer. I think it makes perfect sense that no one knows who he is.

of course we all know who are counter terrorist people are, and everyone that works undercover in this country. We've seen pictures of everyone that's worked for the secret service, and every undercover cop that's ever saved anyone. /rolls eyes

If that's your biggest problem with the realism of this show, then you are missing alot. If we sit and judge everything that's on an exciting show, all shows suck. I could pick apart CSI (which I love), House (which I love), etc and try and ruin it for myself, but it comes back to being entertainment. I don't think there's anything anymore "entertaining" than 24.

Tanje
01-19-2006, 09:08 AM
Actually my take on that scene for next week with Jack and Mike is that Jack called a secret meeting with Mike and someone found out about it and showed up. That's what I think he is talking about, and that is what leads them to believe they have a mole in the white house. My 2pp :)

Ibudin
01-19-2006, 11:25 AM
I'll go with Nanora's..someone gave him up at the airport and he will get revenge on that poor soul.

Sanchek
01-19-2006, 11:41 AM
We know how he got outed at the airport. Jack calls Bill, Bill calls Logan, and Walt hears it and reports to the head commie in charge.

I'd agree that's what he's going to be irate about in the clip from next week.

Nanora
01-19-2006, 11:50 AM
Personally I really hope the writers jump on that one. My memory sucks, but I think this is the very first season where they figured out they had a mole this early in the season. They could really follow that part of it.

Think about it. You are in CTU/ex CTU, you are in the perfect position to stop some terrorists in an airport. You are coordinating the attack from the inside, and the terrorist gets a phone call and boom he knows your name, the name of the one and only hostage you have any relationship with, which you ONLY told someone at CTU because they were supposed be on CTU's doorstep. I'd be livid and wanting to know what the hell is going on at CTU. Though I do wonder how they get these moles in place that high up in the chain of command.

Here's a question, do you think the head commie in charge knows about the nerve gas? Or do you think this season will be like past seasons where they thwart one threat and find out that the 'head commie in charge' was a pawn of a bigger commie?

Ok, my question is... nerve gas in California... and bad guys mentioned something about Moscow being wiped out or something. So is all the gas stuff supposed to get on a plane and flown back to Moscow (maybe back with the Russian Pres?)

Sanchek
01-24-2006, 09:45 PM
My guess would be that they want to send it back with the Russian President and somehow frame the US for it to disrupt the treaty at the same time.

Nope you didn't hear wrong. I am thinking they are going to ship it there. I heard freight as well. Send it to Moscow from the US, and the US gets blamed causing issues politically for the US. I wonder if this season is going to be more about the US not getting blamed for something somewhere else in the world.

I like it that they figure Walt as the mole already, should be fun to see how this all turns out.

I also don't see the point of keeping the recording a secret. Jack could have and should have played it for Hayes, Curtis and others to show them. Now if it is gone he is just going to look like a deranged loon to them.

Yeah but Heller is alive and he heard it. He's a pretty credible witness.

Yeah, but then it is just a he said she said against the President. Tough to point a finger and cry foul at the Pres without having something concrete for people to believe in. Some will know the truth, but it won't be enough to git 'er done, unfortunately.

Only 3 hours left... YEAH!!

That's assuming Chloe can't work her magic and recover enough of the file to make Hellar's testimoney credible.

Chloe > than a mere deleting!!!

I can't believe Jack allowed the ass-kisser to leave CTU unharmed. A broken arm... shot to the kneecap... -something- was in order.

He will probably be a victim in future seasons. :D

Supposedly President Logan has signed for next season also. That doesn't say much though since they are writing the episodes during the season and he didn't know he was turning on the US till 2 weeks before they filmed that episode.

Holy Cow. I thought something seemed fishy when Kim's call was routed through a land line. Why didn't she just call his cell phone, or CTU? Though I was WOW when it was the chinese. I was thinking it was the people behind Logan. When does next season start?? :D

I had a feeling it was going to be the Chinese... based on Logan's mention of "the plan" that they had to get rid of Jack.

Next season will be interesting. One of the guys I watch it with noted the Chinese guy saying that Jack was too valueable may have implications as to them trying to use Jack to start a war or something of that nature, and all next season is going to be Jack escaping and trying to prevent the war from happening.
