Ok, Kiddo finish playing Oblivion on my wifes comp for the day. shuts down the game normally and get an "out of range" error on the lcd monitor (19" Westinghouse). I have read that maybe Windows(XP) may have for some reason reset the defualt resolution to a setting not compatable withe the LCD? I have tried booting up a couple times and the windows splash/loading screens come up fine, but when it switced to the desktop pof "out of range" again. So I try and boot up in safe mode.. Works fine there so the monitor is not out, btu I can't change the resolution at all... or at lest I do not knwo where to look I guess. Possible one of her vid cards took a dump? they are a piar of 7950Gt's. HELP!

Just tried rebooting to last known good configuration.. no good. Thought maybe the native resolution went whacky in Xp.

you resolution is saved in an ini file, you should be able to google which one, safe mode open it and adjust it that way.

I went ahead and did a windows repiar install and everything is back to normal.... I will look up that ini incase it happens again. needless to say Obilvion is not longer on that machine

Odd that you weren't able to load into safe mode. It sounds like it might have been more than just a resolution set too high. Glad you got it working.

Yea I am a little concerned about it but it's working fine again so far. On two occasions nothing would happen at all period when I hit the power button. Only the cases LED lights came...

No.. I opened the case very carefully and peered inside fearing a democrat may have done something to it.. I found no traces of liberalism in it.. I am still checking though.
