As many of you may know, about 2 years ago today I took a lil bit of a leap and formed my own television and video production company. One of the organizations I'm a member of spends a lot of time generating interest for feature films to come to DC and whores their members out on LA production companies to use local folks to make movies. Win for us since we get to stay local but do cool stuff (Evan Almighty, Die Hard 4, National Treasure 2 and Transformers for me so far this year) and win for them since they save some cash on hotels and airfare.
Tony Perkins (formerly weather man for Good Morning America) does a bit on Fox5 Morning News every few weeks where he tries a new profession and this week he wanted to be a movie star - so he came to us. Over the course of 3 hours during his weather bits he learned from screenwriting to shooting to editing how a movie was made. I'm the editor and can be seen in the 11th segment :) Bare with the film, after all it was shot / edited in about 1 and a half hours.
