Much eclectic live music.

Last month it was Nine Inch Nails.

Couple weeks ago it was Depeche Mode.

Last night it was Paul McCartney. Malse is fussy about concerts but the McCartney concert was for me. I daresay he enjoyed it, even with a stadium full of 20K concertgoers old enough to be his dad. Especially when they paraded the Discovery astronauts onstage (only in Houston).(1)

I thought seeing Clapton and Simon & Garfunkel in concert would be hard to top. McCartney is gonna be hard to top. That was a concert that made me happy. :) :)

I have seen NIN twice, Paul McCartney twice, and DM six or seven times- - will see the "Playing the Angel" Tour on Friday! I am hoping for a terrific show, with a lot of their back catalog.

I would have loved to see all three of these concerts. I want the new Paul McCartney CD, keep forgetting to get it. I hear it is pretty good. Have DM and NIN new CDs already. "With Teeth" rocks!

Good for you to see such terrific artists!

When McCartney came to DC I was priveledged enough to go and meet him and I have to say, despite his age he had an amazing personality and was so charismatic. You'd never expect a behind-the-scenes personality like his to someone in the league of super stardome he's in. That was quite a show, too.

I would have loved to see Clapton or Simon & Garfunkle but these concert ticket costs are starting to get crazy.

I caught Trans-Siberian Orchestra (http://www.trans-siberian.com/intro.html) a couple nights ago. Excellent show despite my "see everyone in profile" seats. Highly recommended for some Christmas time entertainment.

I'd quite like to see Paul McCartney, if it weren't for one thing. The ticket prices are simply insulting. No concert is worth hundreds of dollars, except for a very few exceptions. I'd pay that much for those 2 cream reunion shows... thats about it.

But yeah, I've been to a bunch of different good shows lately. I finally saw NIN, which I've been waiting years for. Best show I've ever been to. Thank god the hurricane slowed down, or they probably would have canceled the show, which would have made me cry. Before that there was a metal festival show, headlined by Motorhead. I got one of their picks.

Most recently I went to the final show of Opeths US tour here in my home town. Ridiculous. Nevermore opened for them, whom I had never listened to, and were quite good too. If you know Opeth, you don't need me to tell you how good they were.

Afterwards I went around back and got to meet most of the band (and got their signatures, etc). Even talked to Mikael for a min, quite a cool fellow. Also got to talk to James Murphy, he happened to be there.

Up next I have to choose between one of two shows: Children of Bodom/Trivium or.... Obituary.

I bought the $250/seat tickets for McCartney because I really regretted not buying them when we saw S&G. The theatre we went to had 4 ticket prices, lowest was $85, then $125 I think, forget what the third tier was, highest $250. Paid $75 for Depeche Mode, $45 for NIN.

What I think is absurd is most expensive tickets for Stones in the same venue is $400 per, no way I'd pay that to see Stones.

It was my second time for McCartney, last time I saw him was Wings over America tour in 1976 I believe. And IIRC, I paid something like $12 apiece for those tickets? And I thought that was stiff at the time!

Thanks for the good advice there Thormir, just pre-ordered tickets for me and my girlfriend for the 17th. Then we're going to see Spamalot on the 19th in New York!

Wish I had known about this a month ago. They aren't coming to Georgia and all the Tenn shows were a few weeks ago. :(
