So basically there was some controversy about a focus group run by Frank Lutz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Luntz) for Fox News.
This inspired me to give a little reminder to all the people out there about what polls are and who pollsters are.

Speaking of controversy and Fox News, Ron Paul supporters not too happy about Paul's exclusion from the NH debate, as Sean Hannity (http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/01/07/sean-hannity-flees-from-ron-paul-supporters/) learned.

The exclusion of Paul is not at all surprising, considering how much of a RNC lap dog Rupert Murdoch has become. Paul brings too many unpleasant truths to the debate, and the RNC only wants their chosen topics discussed and debated by their chosen candidates.
(My my, I do seem biased, don't I?) :devil

Fox News' Ratings Take a Nosedive (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eat-the-press/2006/08/29/fox-news-ratings-take-a-_e_28292.html)

Somewhere, Keith Olbermann is sticking pins in a Bill O'Reilly voodoo doll: Fox News' ratings, TVNewser (http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/aug_s_total_viewers_vs_aug_2005_42895.asp) reports (http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/on/aug_s_2554_demo_vs_aug_2005_42896.asp), are down since August of last year. Like, way down. Like down 28 percent in primetime among all viewers, down 20 percent in primetime in the "money demo" (viewers aged 25-54) and down 7 percent in daytime viewership overall. In fact, the only place Fox is up is during the day, when they managed a ratings increase of just 2 percent, and even then only in the money demo.
And lest you think this is an industry-wide trend, consider this: over the same time period, CNN and MSNBC are up. CNN's up 35 percent during the day -- 46 percent in the money demo -- and up 21 percent in primetime overall, 25 percent in the money demo. MSNBC's ratings increases aren't quite as impressive -- up 6 percent in primetime overall, 8 percent in the money demo, and up 36 percent in the money demo during the day, 26 percent overall.
We, of course, are Fair and Balanced here, so there won't be any celebrating later tonight. Certainly we will not be opening any champagne. That would be wrong.

Despite that, they're still ahead of CNN and MSNBC.

Speaking of, I never realized that the architect of The Patriot Act was on the board of Fox until a couple of days ago.

I'm sure he would never use his influence unduly.

Ron Paul is a kook and needs to be properly tar and feathered.
A kook that is getting a larger vote than Fred Thompson atm in NH.

Sure, Paul is a kook in a lot of ways, but he's hitting 10% in the polls and should have been included instead/in addition to Thompson.
Also, Sean Hannity in another life (http://www.dependablerenegade.com/photos/dr_pix/brave_sir_sean_3.jpg)

Only kooks will look at the results/polls from NH and expect any simiularity to reality.

I don't see how that's a defense against Fox's denying Paul a seat at the debate table.

Because I wasn't defending Fox? I couldn't care less.

Paul is not a kook, he's just more of a libertarian than a republican and many people can't deal with that.
