YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read
.
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would
like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758...
If you haven't, add 1757.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
.
.
.
.
.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How
many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)
The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

THIS version will only work in 2008.. yes... but next year's 1759 / 1758 will work for 2009 ; p
Oh... and it doesn't work if you're over 99.
The funny thing about this math problem, is that all of the math that the reader does at the beginning of the problem is only there to create the "oh wow" finish.
So your have your starting number, lets go with 2. Multiply it by 2, this ensures that it will be an even number, in this case 4. Add five. This ensures that you will have an odd number, in this case 9. Multiplied by 50 you will have a number with a digit that is 2 higher than your chosen number in the 100's place and a 5 in the 10's place, every time (this time its 450). An even number would not have ended with a 5 in the 10's place. The fact that it has an extra 250 is important because if the problem showed "add 2008 (or 2007)" it may be a bit too obvious whats going on. This way 17xx can be used to throw the reader off. So, when the reader adds 1758 to the number they're currently at (450) they end up with the current year (or last year if they haven't had their birthday yet), plus their chosen number in the 100's place. In this case, its 2207. When they then subtract the year they were born, they get the difference between the current year and their birth year (read: their age) in the last two digits, and their number in the 100's place.

Are you familiar with this phrase: "Paralysis by Analysis" I bet you are.
Hence the reason this is called the "Nuggets" section, not to be over analyzed but things for just.....well...fun....

Just know that when I see them, I am going to analyze the hell out of them ; pThis is why none of my friends or family forward me stuff anymore. I'd click Reply to All and explain exactly why Bill Gates was not going to give us money for forwarding his message. Always fun in Nuggets though.
