Okay, so how come when you hit the snooze button on an alarm clock, it gets you an extra 9 minutes of sleep? Why not 10 or five? Who arrived at the magic number of nine?

Thats like how in advertisements whenever you see clocks they always have the same time (I forget exactly what time that is though..) As for why? Im going with I probably really dont care.

Slant, the time you are talking about, I think is something like 10:10, it's supposed to signify a smiley face thereby making your subconcious happy, thereby enticing you to blow the $200 on the watch with the stupid smiley face.

Trimlock, this is the type of question I come up with after my brain has spent the day writing employee reviews and is no longer capable of coherant thought processes.

1 minute of beeping + 9 minutes of snooze time = a nice round 10 minutes?

I've always wondered that myself. . .

Why are alarm clock snooze buttons set for 9 minutes? (http://michaelschweppe.typepad.com/chrome_duck_overdrive/2003/12/alarm_clock_sno.html)

Snooze buttons are Satan...

They make you think you have more time to sleep when, in reality, you should be getting your ass out of bed...

One time, I hit the 9 minute snooze for over 4 hours.

It was a Saturday and I meant to get up early to do some work around the house, but alas it never happened.

What's your record snooze time?

I have to put my alarm clock across the room 'cause I learned to turn it off in my sleep. I'd set it for 7, and wake up at 11. Now I have to actually get out of bed to turn the thing off, but sometimes I still flop back into bed "just for a second" and wake up 2 hours later.

So my snooze button is irrelevant.
