I have the unreased movie as well (in DVD), so, again, just let me know how you want 'em. I'd prefer, for other people's sake, that you be pretty specific. I'll gladly get whatever re-encoder you'd like, host a sample, etc.

There's actually someone from the board here that's been encoding season one from DVD for us. After we get through that, if enough people enjoyed it and want season two, I might take you up on that.

Ok, can someone quote me the size, specs for other downloads we're offering (I'm not an anime fan, realy) so I can start converting?
And, I don't do a lot of DVD-DivX encoding, so, if someone has some suggestions, I'd apprecaite it. I can read www.videohelp.com as well as the next guy, but if there's a 1-click you guys feel is appropriate, I'll use it. ...else, like the rest of my hobbies, I'll go completely frickin' overboard.
Oh, and also, I have quite a collection of niche Asian films, like Visitor Q, Audition, Battle Royale, Versus -- that sot of thing, while I'm encoding...

Encoding for ~350mb seems to be good for an hour long show. That's what the Alias episode is, and it looks good. I guess 175 or so for a half hour show. The Narutos are 170mb.
Palimax Sceleris
08-03-2005, 07:52 PM
170m for a half an hour show, or 170m for a half an hour of video? An hour show runs about 42-44 minutes, and a half an hour show about 22.
The House finale on my phone (Suck it, Nokia users!) runs 43:21, which is about par for an hour show.
Sanchek
08-03-2005, 07:53 PM

Palimax send me House!! or atleast tell me the format its in. I got a Sanyo 5600 by Sprint and it does just about anyhting.
Adult Swim has totally degraded to lunacy at this point. I watch Family Guy, thats about it, ATHF is quite possibly the worst show EVER. Birdman is an insult to the former greatness of the USA Cartoon Express show Birdman.

The season finale of House wasn't nearly as good as the next-to-last show, "Three Stories." You finally get the whole story about his leg.
[Cut to a lecture hall. House is sitting on the stage, not doing anything. There are maybe 20 people in the room, waiting for him to speak.]
House: Three guys walk into a clinic. Their legs hurt. What’s wrong with them? [A student – let’s call him Keen Student – raises his hand.] I’m not going to like you, am I?
Keen: Most likely cause of leg pain is muscle strain. Apply heat and rest affected areas.
House: Statistically, you’re right. Very good. My experience: over half of leg pain is musculoskeletal, generally from excessive exercise. Twelve percent is varicose veins brought on by pregnancy, and most of the rest is the result of vehicular accidents. I said three people. That’s six legs. So, you’ve got three hurt jogging, two in collisions, and one of the legs is pregnant. [Some chuckles. Another student – let’s call her the Caring one – pipes up.]
Caring: What were they doing when pain presented?
House: I have no idea. [Enter the third student: the Rebellious one.]
Rebellious: You didn’t ask? You didn’t take a history?
House: Of course, but all that told us was what they said happened. Person A, farmer, says he was fixing a fence. [Cut to a visual of the farmer.] Tightness of the ankle, loss of muscle control. [The farmer groans and collapses.] Person B, volleyball practice. [Cut to a girls’ volleyball team, where there is one middle-aged man playing with them. He dives for the ball and falls on the ground, clutching his leg.] Coach figured it was a pulled muscle. And C, [cut to a mini-golf course] we’ve got Carmen Electra. Golfing. [Her ball makes it into the golden Buddha, and she goes, “Yes!”]
Keen: Whoa, you treated the Baywatch chick?
House: The Baywatch thespian. And no, I’ve gotta disguise the identity of each of the patients and I got tired of using the middle-aged man. Carmen seemed like a pleasant alternative. Also, she’s apparently quite the golfer. [He stands.] Now, in less than two hours, one of these three will get tossed out of the hospital because they were faking it to score narcotics, and one will be very close to death. Any guesses on which is which? [Silence.] Okay, I say we start with the farmer.

Grey - I download S01E22 of House from alt.binaries.multimedia back shortly after it aired. The much bettter S01E21 (Three Stories) is up there now, as are most others. Someone flooded all 22 episodes starting 16 days ago, and completing 12 days ago.
I converted it with PocketDivxEncoder 3.50 (http://divx.ppccool.com/) and I play it with BetaPlayer (http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/) on my phone.
Included are ZIP files with NZB files for House S0103 through S0122. If you have a good news server available to you, you should be able to get them all.
If you lack a good news server, PAY FOR EASYNEWS (http://www.easynews.com/). Upo to 30 gigs a month with rollover for $10, and they're <boston> Wicked Fast </boston>

Ok, someone hit Rybit and let him add NZB to the allowable attachment types, and, hey, how about more than 97k for uploads? I know it's 100,000 bytes, but, would half a meg kill us on space?
All right, I'll shut up and start encoding Family Guy.
For Christmas, someone buy me Good Eats DVDs, ok?

Palimax,
First things first. The programs you need are:
DVD Decrypter
AutoGK
Install both. Once in DVD Decrypter make sure you are in IFO mode. Change the settings so that there is no file-splitting.
Next, create a folder ( I have it on the desktop) called Ripped DVDs. Make this folder your output directory.
Pop in the DVD, it should auto-load and DVD decrypter will automatically choose the IFO of the entire movie. If you are doing a Series, you should see X IFOs (X = number of episodes per DVD)
left click on the IFO, and then click the rip button.
Wait about 15 -20 minutes, and the movie will now be on your Harddrive with the encryption removed. Repeat this process for each episode.
Next open up AutoGK. Input directory should be pointed to your folder you created on the desktop (Ripped DVDs). For multiple episodes, start with IFO_01.
I keep the Output folder the same as input, easier to manage.
Next, you can play with the settings, instead of compression settings, just set the maximum MB to 175 per every half hour for best results. Resolution will be auto adjusted based on this, but it usually is set at 640x480 (4:3).
Next click the "Add" button in the bottom right, to add the file to your batch queue. If your doing episodes, repeat the process. Start with Input file, and point it to IFO_02... etc.
You can set it up to Batch encode as many files as you want. I like to rip the entire season to the harddrive first, then encode 26 episodes while at work, or at sleep. Usually takes my computer 1 hour to encode 45 minutes of video. ( Athlon XP 1800, 756 MB Ram, Win XP Pro, Media Center 2005)
With a better computer, it will encode much faster.
Ok, can someone quote me the size, specs for other downloads we're offering (I'm not an anime fan, realy) so I can start converting?
And, I don't do a lot of DVD-DivX encoding, so, if someone has some suggestions, I'd apprecaite it. I can read www.videohelp.com (http://www.videohelp.com/) as well as the next guy, but if there's a 1-click you guys feel is appropriate, I'll use it. ...else, like the rest of my hobbies, I'll go completely frickin' overboard.

Thanks. When I have the rare out-of-region disc I'll just play it in Shrink when I'm making a region-free copy, or you can always use Decrypter to make a new ISO and watch it from the drive.
Region free firmware is available for nearly any good burner too.

Guys, I apologize for the delay. I have encoded the rest of season 1, but unfortunately, Sanchek and I are having problems working out a delivery system. I tried www.yousendit.com (http://www.yousendit.com) but the upload speed is around 5kbps, and I'm on a T-1 network at work =/
I then tried Megaupload.com, but in order to download any file over 250MB, you have to pay. Obviously I could encode each file at 250MB, but the quality will suffer.
