Is this a real offer and an attack is imminent? (funny they left out the offer before 9/11)

Should we convert?

Should we lie and tell them we converted, then invite them for coffee and kill them when they get here?

Nuking depends on exactly what they attack... As for a ploy I think 99% of all Americans see through this as simple war propaganda. I could honestly say I have no idea, like anyone else, if this means an attack is imminent but I sure aint gonna worry about it. I'll convert if I can have my 72 virgins right now though.

You could refuse to convert, thereby becoming a martyr by dying for your faith in the eyes of some. However, would that not also consitute a form of suicide, since the choice was yours to live or die, and therefore you would lose your chance to enter heaven?

I would say what they wanted me to say to spare my own life and the lives of the ones I love. It is mearly words that are being spoken....it doesn't reflect your true feelings.

If God exists as we beleive he does it would be a situation that I'm sure God would find to be understandable.

I think you are missing the part where Rover is saying he would not be denouncing God, but merely mouthing the words his captors wanted to hear.
Knowing in your heart what it is you truly believe in and saying something other than that to achieve a goal, such as remaining alive in this case, does not mean anything else is being accepted. Heck, it is second nature for politicians.......hmmm, gonna have to watch Rover more closely.
