The contestents this season are unbelievably talented. The show on 4-6-11 was crazy good. Anyone that appreciates musical talent, has absolutely got to love this season. I usually have a favorite by now, I'm kind of torn between 9 people. Elimination tonight, whoever is in the bottom 3, don't deserve it. Crazy good last night.

I know it's fashionable to 'not like' this show, but good god....it's soo good this season especially.

I have not watched Idol in about 4 years really but i saw the big shock over this Pia gal getting booted so I had to look her up on you tube.
She's not just good she's OMFG good. going to make the effort to catch the rest of the season now if she was an example of "poor" talent.

America got it wrong with booting Pia. I hope she gets signed, I really want to see and hear more from her talent. I was literally pissed off all night when she got booted off.

But she is the same old same old, good looking..sings like a diva, but really looking for something different. I think they got it right.

The only ones left who I think will even sell records are Lauren and the country guy. Lauren could do any genre and is not type casted and country fans just in general support country artists so I think he will do well. The rest of them are a dime a dozen and will end up like the majority of past winners. Are some of them talented? maybe but they won't sell records. Anyways Pia being voted off was the wrong choice but I am confident she will be signed anyways. Not many out there with pipes like her these days sorry to say. I hope she is laughing all the way to the bank at the people who voted her off.

I think Casey Abrams is unique and extremely talented. Haley Reinhardt has been kicking ass, that Janis Jopolin song was incredible last week. Paul McDonald has a voice that is so easy to listen to, reminds me of a John Mayer type without the hype, really like that guy. Scotty McCreery will have a career, his Country voice is too damn good and appeals to too many people, he's cheesy as hell when he sings still, but he's what, 16-17? Lauren has a beautiful voice for a kid, crazy range and power.

The only one that is a dime a dozen is Stefano, imo, but he has a great voice. Not a big fan of Jacob Lusk, he's a little too preachy and dramatic for my taste, crazy range though. The rocker guy, meh. American Idol has spawned careers of a lot of people. I don't think there has been a season yet, with more talent than this one.

Pia was a shame. Beautiful, ridiculous voice. These kids get better and better every week. It's fun to watch them grow.

Scott is totally cheesy and he has a hip hop thing going on with his hand, has a serious voice though.

I haven't watched a lot, listen from the computer room mostly while playing EQ.

Yeah I agree talented but most of them won't sell many records. Sad but true that is just the way it is.

But she is the same old same old, good looking..sings like a diva, but really looking for something different. I think they got it right.

I agree - and agree with other points in this thread. A LOT of talent in the top 12 this year... far more than I expected to be honest.

The sad thing about Pia is, yeah she is seriously gorgeous (she looked righteous in that black dress), and yes she can sing seriously well - however every time I watched her, I just was not captivated AT ALL. She was boring, almost like I was watching the talent portion of a beauty pagent. The reason I believe this is true is not because of her inability to captivate me, but just the ability of the rest of the surrounding cast to capture my attention. There are so many unique characters and styles in this seasons final batch of contestants that Pia just got lost in the mix to me.

I hate country music - but if Scotty McCreery isn't on the radio singing professional country music next year I will be highly shocked.

I can't stop watching Casey and smiling every time he performs. He is by no means the best singer, but he entertains the piss out of me (which is where Pia failed, at least for me)

Paul McDonald that they say has a Rod Stewart-esque style I like as well.

Stefano can sing, but imo he should be going home somewhat soon.

Haley, I DUG THE HELL out of the last performance! However that's the first time I've really really liked what she has done. Every other time, I feel like I'm watching some young girl try to act soulful. I don't like watching kids trying to be adults - i like seeing people with serious passion and a connection to their material. Maybe that's asking too much out of people in the idol contestant age bracket *shrug*.

I like James Durbin too - as long as he doesn't just try to scream the crazy high notes all the time that he can hit, I enjoy his singing.

On a similar note, Jacob Lusk I like when he doesn't try to do too much. Yeah hes a flamboyant homo, but he's too flamboyant in his musical style for me. He goes from one extreme to the other - from trying to hit far too extremely low notes, to going way too high at times. It's like on a 0-10 scale... he ranges from a -4 to a 14. When he stays in the 2-8 range, he sounds phenomenal to me. He just needs to tone it down a little bit in my book. His most recent performance if I recall it correctly he did just that and I enjoyed it a lot more.

Lauren can sing her chest off - and I can't believe she can do it so well at such a young age. The past few weeks tho, I feel like she's just coasting. I haven't heard her really try and push herself. Or maybe it's just so effortless for her to sing as well as she does, that I just feel like shes not giving it 100%. To me she is definitely one of the best in this final bunch.

This season there are just more characters with unique styles than ever before, and that is what I am really digging about this year.

I really can't believe I just wrote that much about American Idol...I feel dirty.

'Starting right after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it,' the source revealed.

Pretty cool. All she needs is to learn how to perform, that's what American Idol was teaching her. Yes I agree, she wasn't the best performer, but she also admitted fighting stage fright her entire life. She was getting more and more comfortable on the stage. Hopefully she has a long career and does some great things.

I think most of these kids will get deals. I think Pia will be the most successful.

WOW, this girl is now every where and on every channel. getting booted may very well be the best thing that could have happened to her.
