Think of how the world changed during his life!

Each time one of the few surviving WW1 veterans pass away, it always feels like a bit of a stab in the heart. You all of a sudden feel how easily history slips by and important issues become increasingly forgotten.
We still have a couple left in Britain, fortunately, but Harry Patch, who was local to me and served at the battle of Jutland (!!) passed away last year sadly.
If ever people deserved to rest in peace more, it's these chaps.

Got rest his soul. Sadly many of the young people today do not realize the sacrifices made by these good men and women. It makes me wonder that should we be plunged into a new world conflict, how many of our young would rush to the recruiters as they did back then.
