Today, at 1:00 cst, here in Minnesota we saw the temperature climb above 0 degrees. This was the first time we were above 0 in 86 consecutive hours. They are forecasting temps around 30 come Monday, and I bet there will be folks in T-shirts.

So, I have watched snow and cold temps hitting everyone this year, and I am wondering if anyone else is old enough to remember when this was a normal winter, or if this is going to be blamed on global warming or El Nino rather than being a simple global cycle of weather changes.

Anyway, I might have to clear some snow from the deck Monday so I can do some sunbathing. :D

Well I can only speak for Wisconsin and for once I like to correct my dad when he would tell me, back in the 1970's we had snow banks as high as the power lines. In fact last year we had the second most snowfall on record ever (was behind first place by 3 inches), and three major storms missed us. This year we have had a record December for snow fall. The last couple winters, are not nor have ever been the norm, its above average...and at times breaking records.

A few cold snaps here and there but having 70-80 degree weather here in Austin has done wonders for my golf game. Hopefully spring will stay.

HAHAHA, maybe thats just gods retribution for the Palin nomination :devil

Been a very wacky and untypical winter in the NW so far with the worst snow event i can recall. multiple snowstorms with no meltoff in between really fubared the area. two major flooding events as well with another very possible as spring approaches. usually see a major flood bi-annually. the last week has been non stop fog. so bad i was driving around the other nigh and you couldnt see the stop lights untill you got 50-75 feet away.

BTW Elmack i thought Ancorage was more mild weather wise. akin more to WA or BC climatalogy.

Nah typically you get snow around end of September / beginning October and it stays until April-ish. Sometimes the Chinook winds come through and melts everything down for a day or two, but not like this. It literally started Wednesday and has finally stopped yesterday (Saturday) got up to an average of 50 degrees in the middle of January. The week prior it was -30 degrees and up to -10 for the high. That's more normal.

Though the weather down in San Antonio has been really fking weird too. 80 one day 30 the next. God/Mother Gaia/whoever the fuck is in charge needs to get on it, someone left the weather machine set to "insane"

It's been cold in SCPa but little percipitation. =\ 2x the weathermen have warned of some crazy snow storm that will dump tons of snow on us only to see it fly by and hit north. We've been stuck with icky freezing rain/sleet. I much prefer snow to this bullshit. Having to chip my car in the mornings to just open the door blows.

I love snow, I'd like to see more please. Enough with the ice BS.
