If I was given the remote to determine who Obama would have for Veep, my first choice would be Caroline Kennedy; my second choice would be Bill Richardson.

Both candidates obviously bring some healing potential for factions that Obama needs, and both maintain historical strides for their specific groups (females and Latinos). Both would offer strong backgrounds, although from different experiences.

What are your thoughts, on potential veeps?

And please, we don't need to turn it into a bash so and so thread.

It won't happen, but early on there was mention of John Edwards, and I'd love to see him on the ticket.

I'd much rather see Edwards or even Clinton as opposed to Caroline or Richardson.

Teir 1
Jim Webb: Stong military background, swing state senator, Blue Dog Democrat, tough as nails, smart as hell
On his negatives, he is a Senator from Virgina and is in his first term, doesnt lend experience to ticket.

Hillary Clinton: Brings a ton of base voters back strongly. Has some of the best political talent in her corner in McAulliffe, Ickes, Wolfson, and Lanny Davis. Not to mention Bill himself.
On the negatives: Mad, Mad, Mad Drama. A choice designed to win an election, not govern effectively

Ed Rendell. Swing state governor. The Ultimate politician. Will 100% deliver Pennsylvania on a silver platter. Brings experience and age to the ticket.
Negatives: Not really sure if he has any. But wont be the choice if Obama is confident in Penn. Possible weakness of making ticket with no Foreign policy experience if McCain goes super foreign policy focused. Loose cannon. Libel to say anything and maybe not a good fit for a campaign as disciplined and low drama as the Obama people.

Ted Strickland: Ohio boy. Very important. Son of a Steelworker. Very battle tested, very vetted, has survived the all out assault from the GOP several times. Pro Gun, loved by the NRA
Negatives: Boring, doesnt seem to want it.

Mark Warner. Virgina. part of the reason VA is turning blue. Self made businessman. One of the best economic minds in the Democratic party..
Negatives: Im sure there has to be one...

Edwards would be good for Attorney General. Hillary will probably be either a cabinet appointment or Senate Majority leader.

Webb would be great he has the military background and he's a serious fighter.

I think that Rendell is likely to make the short list, heck I'll call it and say Rendell. He will counter any elitist whisperings, he's a real regular guy, and he can also help with Jewish voters

Rendell will be the VP nominee!
