Just saw a press release announcing a press conference tonight by Hillary Clinton which was to a much broader audience than normal. Presumably will be her bowing out of the race.

Or she's going to drop a bombshell about Obama's connection to bin Laden!!!
She's too desperate to make her mark and to hold the reigns for this to go easy imho.

She's not stepping down, just out on CNN.

This is just great for the Democratic party. Why couldn't the republican party had more of a race? This entire thing sucks.

Because as a general rule the repulican party's vision is narrower. Goes with the definitions of the partys. The Democrats have always been more factioned again following with the definition of liberals.

I'm not sure what that means Fandros, but anyway, Clinton isn't going to quit entirely. I predict she'll suspend her campaign indefinitely until the convention.

What I mean by that is the nature of the Republicans grants them a far more narrow viewpoint by in large while the liberal, by definition, if with wider paradigms.
So wider paradigms leads to more varied definitions of what is important and that leads to more factions in the Democrat party.
Since I can remember there was always more infighting in the Democratic ranks than the Republicans. Was just trying to define why I think that is.

From what I've heard thus far today she's been talking about how she would be willing to run as VP. We've got a few more hours until the press conference, I may still be right on :)

She's sending out all sorts of mixed signals.
If I were him I'd say hell no to her as Vice President. She's far too manipulative and comes with too much old washington baggage to want sitting behind Obama long.

I was shocked to see she'd consider VP with Obama. Most folks assumed that was out of the question.

From that Yahoo link...
As the strongest female presidential candidate in history, Clinton drew large, enthusiastic audiences. Yet Obama's were bigger. One audience, in Dallas, famously cheered when he blew his nose on stage;
What?!

I am going to make a very cynical suggestion here, so please take it as only that and not any form of wishful thinking on my part:
It is very possible that Bill and Hillary have had some long conversations about this, and that the one argument that keeps refuting any others is that if something happens to Obama, she as Vice President would then be in the position to step in and essentially have what she has been campaigning for these last many months. I am not saying that she would harbor any ill thoughts toward Obama, but that she is realist enough to see that there is always that potential.
Seriously, I think that is the only draw for her to be able to put the campaign behind her and serve with him. Question is, would the rest of the Democrats accept that. It might be viewed by some as a way to blunt some of the negatives of Michelle Obama, by having another female in the White House.
Also, if she is selected as VP she is still making history along with Obama; the Clinton political legacy grows.

SHe would also be pretty much a sure thing 8 years from now too.

If there's one sure thing, it's that there aren't any sure things. Had you ever heard of Obama eight years ago?

I had, although that was a coincidence--a friend of mine grew up in Chicago. She was a strong Obama supporter back when he was "just" a state senator.

What party wouldnt support a VP running for office consecutively after an 8 year run.

Also, if she is selected as VP she is still making history along with Obama; the Clinton political legacy grows. If I were in her spot, and lost the primary, I'd step up to VP in a heartbeat - I just remember extensive discussions stating she would never play his second. She still becomes the first female VP as pointed out, and is in a great spot to claim power should something happen to Obama, or to rise up in 8 years.
8 years? We're giving him that much credit already?

Did anyone see the press conference? I didn't look for it. What else was she talking about ...
Umm, yeah, her press conference last night most definitely was the end of her campaign. Here's a post on her blog:

I'll try to find footage of the conference after I get home from work.
Here's transcript:

Right. Notice she left it up in the air completely, during her actual speech.
Maybe that lame blog post is the closest she'll come to conceding, until the convention. I like how there's a big "contribute" button at the bottom of it.

She point blank said last night she wasn't going to make a decision last night.
While you are right that it's all over but the fat lady singing Kel, the fact remains Hillary has yet to admit it.
It was a premature medialation (new word!!) and the AP was hoping for their media darln ahead of schedule.

You guys are so cute being so nieve!
Obama kicking off his campaign against McCain in the growing blue-er every minute Virginia is no coincidence, especially since the Nissan Pavilion was booked a few days ago. Apparently my producer at BET was notified yesterday morning that there would be a big event they want to cover.
Hillary is playing her role exactly as Obama wants her to ... or rather exactly as the Democrat Party wants her to.
The press release came out early yesterday suggesting that it was going to be a lot bigger than a normal speech (since afterall every time she speaks a dozen cameras are there already) and in her speach and simultaneous blog post is as good as its gonna get. They're both in DC today and I wouldn't be surprised if she was also at the event tonight or if she meets with Obama today.

Easy now Kelraz, you got caught in the Ap's false report and are now trying to defend it.
Truth is she hasn't backed out yet, you know it, we know it and it's a fact.
We're not pointing at you saying neener neener you're wrong ...so relax.
The media machine got overly eager, that's all.
