Sen Jim Talent, R-Mo, in whose home state will be built 10 more C-17 Globemaster III cargo jets, which the Pentagon is trying to discontinue, at a cost of $2.1 billion.

Hey, it keeps people working, right. Who cares if they are obsolete and not wanted by the Pentagon, the Senator delivered to his constituents. Of course, we will all be paying the taxes that will be used to pay for this pork program.

He keeps jobs in the district.

Basically Republicans just spent 2.1B to insure he keeps his seat. Good politics, bad policy.
