Just looking to start up WAR again, now that the shine has worn off the latest WoW expansion (didn't take long did it LOL).

Looking for a group that's interested in tearing shit up, but not looking for a 24/7 commitment.

No, myself about 10 other guild mates cancelled in the last month. The endgame is so utterly broken I'd rather watch water boil than play the keep/BO flip-flop game.

My server had the worst population imbalance, until recently that is. so many destruction have quit that Order now has the advantage so if you're looking for a challenge play destruction on Monolith.

I keep in touch via the WHA forums in case things change but Mythic is so out of touch with their customers they think adding new classes will save their broken game. Until zone locking fundamentals change I will not waste any money on that game.

I quit playing some time back, even tho there are aspects of the game I love the end game is so borked that only by the zerg is there a winning raid.

It's too bad, it has alot of promise but as Fil stated they don't have a mechanism in place for equitible customer feedback. I'm tired, I'm sure that didn't make a lick of sense ;(

Yeah I hear ya, though since the last big patch (been away for a bit) I've noticed quite a lot of improvements, though I couldn't tell you about the end game. They're supposed to be releasing a new expansion for free and putting in a new end game dungeon. Figured I'd check it out hehe.

I've actually been playing LoTRO and am enjoying it. It's sooooooooo slow compared to WAR and perhaps that is what I needed. Too much rushing to the endgame stuff for me in the previous games I've played so I'm settling down and taking things slow.

I do still keep up with WAR though b/c it was damn fun before all that was left was the zerg and T4 :(

LoTRO is very well polished as far as graphics and gameplay goes, but honestly...it just feels like its missing something. Hard to put my finger on, but it just wasn't able to hold my interest for any great length of time. I enjoyed it while I played, but it got irksome pretty quickly.

Aye, seems to be par for course with MMO's these days. No staying power like good ol EQ. To be honest, if they'd rehaul that game and update the engine, I'd go back in a heart beat. It's just so hard to play the game with the old control system LOL.

Actually I've played 'em all and have always come back to EQ. Knock the graphics all you like not a one of the other MMMORPG's come close to game play or depth of character development.

We would sit in the same room in the same dungeon day in/day out for hours upon hours waiting for the named we wanted to spawn. There were TWO raids, and both were won without any strategy at all - just brute force zerging. You go back to a game that has had 12 years worth of development time after running out of content in a game that has had ~2 year of development time ... OF COURSE it will have more depth of character development.

Did I say EQ hadd depth at release....nope ....tho it was a far funner game at release (first expansion) than any game to date.

The thing is lots has changed since EQ1 came out and there's many different types of MMO gamers. All of these new games cater to those different niches. LoTRO is not very end game or competition heavy so that could be what you're missing. It's just a game to play for the beauty and story. Something I'm actually having a great time doing. I've been too concerned about raiding, hitting cap, doing all the OMG uber encounters in every game I've played that I wanted a change of pace.

I've often thought of trying EQ1 again but I gave my account away and I'd have to start fresh and that thought makes me queasy...aren't they up to 3k AAs now? I doubt I'd even have any fun starting new in a game so long established with really having raiding as the only fun things to do.

WAR is a very fun game, it's increadibly fast paced and full of action. If they reworkd T4 and zone locking the game will regain many of its' former players I'm sure. It's like nothing else out there right now so I'm really hoping they fix it. Either way, LoTRO is holding the attention of my usual group of friends so we're happy right now trotting along at a very slow pace. :D

They'd have to bring the WE down from their collective godhood status as well as fix T4 and T5. I do agree, very little compares to the fast paced action of WAR.

I'd return to playing if they put the repairs in place. Hell been thinking about it as something to play when I need a break from EQ.

Think rangers are up to aprox 4k aa's total now Fil. I'm almost at 3k and still climbing, though most of those are blah ones.

I play EQ2 myself and having fun with that, but would go back to EQ1 if they updated the graphics to modern specs as i still have all my characters still there.
Once you go to 1920x1200 resolution in the newer MMO's, the EQ1 graphics are painful to watch lol..
+1 to LoTRO also, i have the lifetime subscription but only play it off and on. Very nice game to just relax in imho.

I don't mean to disagree fanny, I loved EQ more than any other game also, but WoW has been out since 2004 and is still growing. Id say thats staying power.

That being said i wish they would fix some of the problems with WAR.

Ugh it's growing with the demographic group of children aprox 12.

I also think Blizzard is playing loose games with their numbers as I know noone that plays it longer than a month to take the new shine off an expansion and then they run off again.

So what destro classes are any good now? I have not played in months.

I'm loving the Blackguard. Haven't played anything else yet.

Well I quit some 3 months ago, but it was most certainly the Witch Elf as the favored child(e).

I'm having trouble deciding between Witch Elf, Marauder, and Magus/Squig Herder. I'm liking them all.

Witch Elf = super high damage fast with almost no survivability. Probably getting nerfed soon.

Squig Herder = after level 30 high damage, some what better survivabilty, got a love patch recently and they can really zing out the damage

Marauder = wannabe WE, all fetching techniques are getting revamped soon which was the cool thing they have aside from their crazy speed boost. They do high damage too but not like a SH or WE.

Magus = sad class that could be something great, all they have is rift. when properly timed magus rifts and everyone converges on who he has netted.

Sorc = super high damage when properly played, AE damage. A
magus/sorc combo together = lethal when rift is up. They also have nice proc buffs for the group.

Blackguard = gimp class that could be so much better but isn't so Mythic gave Order Knights with their Elton John mirrorball effects and felt obligated to give Dark Elves a tank, it's too bad the BG is shitty compared to its' mirror class.

DoK = over powered healer when properly specced. I love my DoK! Excellent survivability for instances, scenarios, or RvR. T3 is rough after being kings/queen of the battlefield in T1/T2 but late T4 we bloom again into a very powerful healer unless you insist on trying to play front lines damage in paper armor which some idiots do.

Black Orc = best destruction tank, decent damage high survivability

Chosen = gimp tank, They have some ok spells but if you need a tank go with a BO in all situations. They have some nice group buffs but really BO is king of the tanks.

Zealot = worthless healer after the combat balance patch, they gave us more DPS and less healing. Still they can hold their own usually.

Shaman = best healer, instant rez, but people still think they're a DPS class /sigh



It depends on if you're a front line action person or a back line action person. In WAR DPS classes try to maul the back line while the back line tries to keep everyone up. The great thing about the game is the necessary team work to acheive anything but it is also the biggest weakness.

The CC in WAR is painful... disable disable disarm dead. Some classes have a few disarm/disable tricks others have things to resist it (it depends on spec). You have three career trees and you can make your character very different choosing any of them.

Order sacked Inev City on my server this week, I am considering going back b/c now they're too big for their britches and need a smack down. Destruction lost so many people on my server it's crazy; it might be more fun to fight the zerg than to be in the zerg for a change. :D

Yeah I have played WoW since the friends and family beta. Really enjoyed the game, but the balance and lack of decent raid content at the moment has turned me off bad. Its a steaming pile of crap right now.
