Ok, not too sure how to explain this correctly, but i'll try. Want to know what others thing, as kind of a peace of mind.

Ok, so i'm in this group about to go on a DoN Expedition. It's me Enchanter, Wizard Druid cleric and.. one other (Who has nothing to do with anything)

Mind you, i'm boxing myself, and cleric (My friends)

Ok, so we get the group togeather, but we aren't gathered yet, we are to meet up in lava, get The expedition, and go in.

The group gathers in lava, i am still a bit behind, as i have to rez my friends cleric (Who died eariler in raid) Before we head to the mission.

It took me about 4-5 min From the time we get all the members to fully rez cleric. After about 3 min of waiting, i start getting tells from enchanter.

Tells such as, (I am doing these from memory, they are about 99% correct, with some exeption)

"Hurry the F*** up, stop wasting my god damn time"
"Hey idiot, what the f*** is taking you so long"

I explaind that i had just gotten DoN about 2 hours ago, and since i was boxing i was looking for a port, as trying to run both toons to Laval from Neriak stone would take me no joke about 40 min.

She followed up with the following,

"How idiotic could you be, it's a simple run, you know what i'll f***ing tell them to wait and send someone to pick you up"

Now, this was not the bad part, i shrugged it off, i mean i know there are impatiant people in EQ. I have always disregarded things like this and don't take them personally, but it got worse when we got to the group.

Ok, so skip ahed about 10 min, to when we are outside broodlands and buffing up.

What happens next, alot of people may not find all too offensive or even wrong, but i did, and i just want to know if i'm alone thinking about this.

Ok, so here is *basically* how things went down, not word for word, but the important stuff is 100% Accurate.

Enchanter : Buff here, then we will move into broodlands
Me : Sure, I have Clair, cleric needs tho, casting BSS and Virtue Now
~~I cast BSS and Hit everyone with virtue~~
Druid: Want Skin and symbol insted?
Enchanter : Yeah thats alot smarter.
Me : Sure, give me two min to med cleric for symbol.

Now, that you got the basic set up, here is what i got pissed at. Because i had to med cleric for symbol we had a good few min before i could cast, just wait time.

Wizard: Since we have a moment, could i port a friend quick? Shes right at PoK Port in, and i'm bound here should take no more than two min?
Druid: Sure, go for it
me: Yeah, ill go grab a drink while she meds and we wait for you.

Wizard has been removed from group
(I figured she disbanned to port her friend)

(In Say) Wizard: hey, why was i removed?
(In Say) Enchanter: We do not want someone like you.

(Group) Me: That was a bit Harsh, she was just trying to help her friend quick, we have the time anyway while i med.
(Group) Enchanter: I don't care who the fuck does she think she is running off like that, what is she going to do run off in the middle of the expedition.

There is a bit more, nothing really interesting tho.

I proceded to tell the wizard i was sorry for what happened and that i disagreed with what Enchanter did, and my morals as both a paladin (Yeah i roleplay) And as a player i could not be in the group anymore after this, and i left with my cleric also.

Now, i'm not looking to attack anyone, or anything of that nature, not even sure if anyone else would be upset by this, i was just wondering if i was wrong to have left like that, or if anyone else would have been upset by something like this. its a MMORPG, there are all types of people and you at some point have to deal with them all. People have every right to be Asses if they want, not debating that either. Just really wondering what people thoght of it.

Also, if anyone does know the names, please do not mention them as it could start something i rather not get involved in.

I think we've all had groups like that at some point.

The long and short of this is that grouping with strangers is a fantastic way to (a) meet nice new people, and (b) meet people you never want to group with again.

Keep a list of both :)

This is the exact reason I decided to stop playing for awhile. Im sorry but people, kids have no reason to be that ignorant, rude and in general disrespectful. Yes this pisses me off because I encountered it way too many times for my liking. While I too am impatient I would never behave that inappropriately. I would find something else to do in rl for a few moments or tell the group I am impatient, and need to move on. Now if they give me lip, you betcha I would blast them. But blasting without cause in this instance is a good show of lack of maturity and a lack of proper parenting. Unfortunately there are few good people in relation to the real jack asses.

NO I can surely tell you that it isnt an enchanter thing...I mezzed my way around the server and never got that pissy with someone just because they were running behind. Being a dick yes; being rude yes; ksing damn skippy.


Personally I think its just in general an asshole thing. Good people just dont understand it.

If you believe there are more assholes then decent people on EQ...then you didn't hang out with me enough Sonyy. I would say 95% of my EQ experience has been had with nice people. Every once in a while I would encounter an ass, and I would avoid him/her in the future.

In general, I have found EQ a place for socializing....and EQ2 it seemed like I was playing alone on a server full of people.

I would have left after "hurry the Fuck up"

But on the other hand, the wizard was wrong to place you guys in that situation asking such a thing and slowing everyone down as well as you.

When you agree to group you should be ready to go. not do side quests along the way such as rezzing / buffing / porting others not in your party at that time.

That's too bad Shannah, but I can see how some people don't like starting over or trying new things and giving them a chance ;)

On the other hand Sonyy tends to expect too much from people in a game, and it's why she doesn't play much these days b/c as you do...she avoids the asses.

Me, I like comic relief and tend to find the good or can find humor in most people.....but I play for fun and try not get stressed ;) As for the knit-wits described above I am with DeeCee I would have nicely dropped the group and went about my business after "hurry the fuck up" was dropped.

Very first time the toon started cursing at me I would've told him/her/it to get bent.

There have been a few occasions when asses like the enchanter described above found their way into my group. After the first "hurry the *** up" I would have known what I was in for. Peeps with this amount of impatientness (that a real word?) usually end up dooming mission type scripts like DoN from the get go.

I have read your story over and over again but in an LDoN context. I bet that the enchanter only had 3 hours to play and was hell bent on getting his/her crystals.

I probably would have stayed in group just to watch how bad it could have gotten. If the chanter was ebayed you know what would have happened:

- chanter bosses everyone around telling them to hurry the **** up.
- group starts mission.
- chanter tells everyone how to play their classes and tries to run the mission his/her self.
- peeps in group don't say anything but are cursing the chanter under their breath.
- chanter wipes group.
- group rezes, meds and rebuffs.
- chanter wipes group.
- group rezes, meds and rebuffs.
- chanter gets even more impatient and pissed, throws a tantrum and leaves in a hissy.
- rest of the group attempts to finish the mission but are really just trying to eek out a bit more xp before they get booted.

The sadistic side of me enjoys these types of groups - lets see how bad bad can get type of thing.

Write down the chanters name and aviod him/her like the plauge.

Luthor, I'm gonna have to agree with others on this thread. If they were rude to you before you got into the group it most likely will not change once you get into the group. I'd just add that person to the list, and avoid them in the future. Not all people out there act that way, but on occasion we all experience them given enough time in Norrath.

Yes Shannah I always had a good time grouping with you. But you and the other "good" people were few and far between. The bad people made the game an ache to even approach. I hope at some point I will be able to play without the anxiety of idiots and rude people. Til then well I avoid it.

Sounds like you just had bad luck with a person Luthor. We all run into them at some point, no matter how hard we try. Best thing to do about it is to simply go with the people you know, or not at all. I find pick up groups getting more and more...stupid. Like I can't trust a lot of the people with anything more dangerous than string for fear that they might hurt themselves. :/

Just like to re state a few things.

1) The Post was never ment to be a flame or a Nag or hell even a complaint, which is why i never posted any names. The point of the post was i wanted peoples opinion on what happened if they would have been upset and LEFT the group given what happened, which brings me to #2

2) People seem to be a bit confused, as a friend asked me to clear this up in game, figured i'd clear it up here also becasue it seems to be a bit cloudy.

I am Luthor, a paladin, durring this i was playing my girlfriends cleric. The person who was removed for wanting to port her friend was a female wizard, who was not me, and to my *KNOWLEDGE* The Wizard was there far before i was, and did not make the group wait at all.

And the reason i posted it in nag was becasue i was asking for peoples opinions, and didn't want them to be restricted in what they would say in general forum etc, figured this would be better.

The thing about logging conversations from the game is that they can be edited before they are posted in a thread. I dont see where the problem was with Luthor in this group other than it taking him a bit to get 2 toons to the mission. He gave fair warning that it would take that long and I dont see an objection to it. I saw a solution...send someone to port him.

If Logix was the enchanter of the group, well, I take what was in Luthors post over what was posted from the "log". I have grouped with Logix, she got killed on the way to camp and left the group after pretty much cursing us out for not helping her when she NEVER let anyone in the group know that she couldnt find us and that she had a mob on her. Communication is solid part of grouping. We dont know whats going on unless someone tells us whats happening. Luckily for me and my guild, we have teamspeak and we use the hell out of it, so it makes grouping and raiding more fun.
I have ran into a lot of impatient ppl on this game. Some seem to think RL stops and the game is the only thing that matters. They want you right here, right now...nevermind if your kid just broke something that you now need an AFK to clean up, or that your phone is ringing in another room and you need to answer it...the list goes on. Chances are, if they are bossing you around and telling you to hurry the f**k up, they wont have much patience with the group when the cleric is lom and needs to med and they decide to keep pulling resulting in a wipe. It becomes everyones fault but the dominering factor of that group.
Maybe Im just rambling on here, but I read the "log", and I dont see where Luthor did anything wrong. But then again, I wasnt there to experience what he had to go through. I just feel sorry that he ended up in a group that treats ppl with that much disrespect. Unless the leader of that group is paying Luthor's fee to play EQ, where do you get off telling him to hurry up? He gave fair warning..period. You dont like it, look for someone else to group with next time. You knew he was 2 boxing, so if he was gonna have problems getting to the group, he most likely would have had problems boxing healer and tank.

The issue here is not what happened in the group. That was trivial and it was forgotten as soon as it happened.

The issue is he posted a distorted account of what happened. Embellishment doesn't even begin to cover it. It was completely invented. Normally I brush off stuff like this, but the whole "this is 99% accurate" when it resembled what happened not at all kind of irked me.

Two things in particular stand out to me. First is how did

The second is the entire "buffing dialog" which did not happen. In particular, the wiz did not ask permission to take off, he said I'm going to do thisinanotherzone and immediately started casting gate. There was no medding to cast symbol (which had already been cast), no going to have a drink and I hate to speak for the druid, but she certainly didn't give a nod of approval towards any of these imagined proceedings.

Tho you know, if I were going to edit that file, I'd certainly do it in such a manner to cast a more favourable light upon myself. That it doesn't makes it all that more credible.

I am not defending what I did. Yeah I got impatient with the paladin but he was being slow. Yes, I kicked the wizard out of the group but he wasn't hanging around anyhow. So what? I'm not criticizing these two for what they did. They didn't live up to what I expect from a group member and got replaced. That's my prerogative as a group leader. No big deal. Different playstyles and all that.

If you want someone like Luthor in your guild, that's certainly your prerogative.

As an afterthought, if you want verification of what actually happened, feel free to chase down Moogs and Lyynx in the game.

I sort of vaguely remember this. Wasn't that in RCoD when you took off leaving me behind, not stopping to wait for me, not coming back for me and only giving me a vague "we're in that direction" instruction (after I repeatedly asked where you were) which ran me straight into a see-invis mob? I can dig up the logs and post those if you like.

See, the one thing about me is, I have patience, understanding, I play my char to the best of my knowledge, I dont hold grudges, and I use tact when talking to someone in game. Im not demanding, I look at both sides of a situation, and Im calm when I talk to ppl. I realize not everyone can be as perfect as I am; its a difficult task some just arent up to par to be...and hey, Im ok with that...we cant all be perfect.

I have seen both sides to the situation from the posts on here and I have spoken to Luthor about it. He stands by his story...as Im sure everyone else involved stands by their own as well.

A thing about logs is it's difficult to show something that's not there. I've read through the log and there was nothing from you or Trina or anyone else in the group; no apology, no offer to rez me, nothing, from when I died to when I went LD about 15 minutes later. Not that I wanted that, you failed to lead me 1/4 of the way across a zone, there was no way I was going to allow you to try to retrieve my corpse from underneath a raid encounter mob. (not unless your name is Silverbladez).

If it were me in that situation, I would have said "stop don't move" and gone back for the person. I don't think I would have given them blind directional instructions in a multi-tiered, compartmentalized zone dotted with see-invis raid encounter mobs.

( A simple, "hey guys, could someone come get me?" would have not been a hard question to ask here. Once you said "okay", you were pretty much implying that you understood the directions Trina gave you and that you were on your way)

They were trying to give you directions to get with the rest of the group. For all you know, maybe they were dealing with a mob that wouldn't allow them to get away at that exact time to come hold your hand to lead you back to the group. You talk about how if RiP was raiding they wouldn't wait for someone to show up late to a raid. Ok, sounds fair, nothing wrong with that. Would RiP hold up the raid to wait for one player that got lost from the rest of the raid? I don't know, I'm not in RiP. But it's been my experience with raiding, that if a person is lost from the rest of the raid force, it's their responsibility to get back with the raid. And that's with guilds that are a lot more relaxed about their raid styles than I am sure RiP is.
Now, from your logs, it seems as if they had other stuff going on as well.

Maybe they all weren't in the same spot, maybe they were. But it seems as if they were a little scattered themselves. Maybe, just maybe, they were working on one pronlem at a time. Who knows but them.

So maybe the directions didn't help you, ok, sounds fair. What you could have said if you didn't feel comfortable running around that zone by yourself was say: Listen guys, I'm a little uneasy about being by myself in the zone. Could you just send an escort to me, to bring me back to the group? My guess is that they would have sent an escort immediately to you. But, your frustration didn't come through until the end, until after you died.
Now, from the time you made that comment until when you de-grouped yourself, it was 13 seconds. You gave them 13 seconds to offer help to you, to come rez you, come drag your corpse, whatever. 13 seconds is an awfully short time.

So here's what I am saying. It's a damn group, someone (who know's, it sounds like more than one person) was separated from the group. One of those persons died, got mad and degrouped. Ok, it happens. What doesnt need to happen are the personal attacks.
There are always two ways to respond to any given situation. To attack someone's character (not their EQ character-their personal moral character) is so underneath everyone. We should all be adults here, we should all be above that. I don't know you Londreigh. You're probably a pretty nice person. I don't believe I've met Luthor, but he's a guildmate of mine. And I've known Summersun for quiet sometime, and she's a wonderful person. I normally don't post responses to this crap in nag, but when it's attacking someone for standing up for her guildmate (it seems rather similar to what Blearchy was trying to do for you) I'm gonna pipe up.

This particular situation happened more than two months ago. It happened, it's over and done with. Let it go, everyone.

That’s not how you do it! You're supposed to train your group, taking them down with you! If you're going to die, you make sure they die, and then it’s a win win situation!

Also, I totally agree with Almadar. You deserved getting booted, what kind of person swears at a group then leaves without saying anything further? Well me of course, but I’m an asshole, and I admit that. Why don’t you? My question is why you didn’t ask for someone to come back and get you if you're so clueless to where you're going, rather than running around and getting raped by a mob. Do you really expect the group to know what you're thinking? Next time you get lost from the group, tell them you're totally lost and you need someone to come help you. Think of it this way, if you don’t ask for help, don’t expect help.

No there wasn't. I was an auto-in. I was tagged immediately and given access to the boards immediately. Same day I talked to Derryk about it I was guild tagged and got full board access like the next day.

I've been browsing through my logs and not once did I find a place where I spoke to you or you spoke to me while you were in the guild. I didn't even remember you were in RiP till you mentioned it here.

Just go check in archives, i dont have acces sanymore, there was.
