I've heard about it and seen a little of its gameplay, but I've yet to seriously look into it.

My hubby is playing it & loves it. I've dabbled a bit with it. My fave loadout (of course) is sniper. I know there are tournaments that are organized with quite lengthy scrimmages. The next one that I know of is this Thursday though I'm unsure of the time. I can try to get the information for you if you'd be interested in checking it out.

I love the hell out of this game. Im all about the anti tank with the upgraded gun. :D

I wish my computer could handle this game, I used to play BF1942 lots, but the reqs for the new one are insane :(

Plays really well on an athalon 3.2. My only gripes with the game are the buggy as software, for loging in/getting into games and the whole loading helo's up and flag capturing with em (which thankfully is going to be patched).

Buying this game today. Can't wait. Fandros, Do you use the ingame Voip for communication? Or Team Speak? I have been playing the shit outta the demo!! Love it so far.

I'm only using the ingame voice atm.

This game is very fun with people who you can trust on your team, public games are hell because people just do not listen. Like when you're using a jeep's gun and have mines in front and behind it and say "Do not move the jeep i am using it" and without fail some moron hops in and drives into a mine

Today on the Divo servers it was nuts, was constant voting for a change of command. Thing was, we beat the MEC 5 rounds in a row. Dahell they crying about? Simple...fargn rank whores...

The in game voice thing I never could get to work for me. My buddy's set up a little team speak server instead, works awsome.

Pressing and holding V allows Commanders to talk to his squad leaders and viceversa.

Pressing and holding B allows Squad leaders and their crew to talk to each other.

Tho I have a hard time hearing folks over the sounds of me being blown to bits. I actually died today, was and was respawned just as the enemy called artillery down upon my position. I must have flew 300 feet into the air, was great....

I've definately got to up my game. At press time I'm still only at 300 or so rank points. Of course it would have helped if I had taken to playing ranked servers earlier.

Top it off, I can't fly those damn helicopters worth a damn. Chopper pilots rake in the points, flying to the flags and capturing them early on seems to be key.

Ok WTF.. I buy the game, install, Goof around in single mode. Decide to update to latest patch. Now it will not let me log in. Keeps saying "Connetion to server refused". Any ideas whats up?

Same old questions...firewall etc etc?

EAgames.com is where you want to go to update patch 1.02. You'll have to do this to play on the ranked servers. Meaning to work on your military rank which unlocks weapons and such.

yea i figured it out.. I'm a moron( as a few of you are want to point out). I did not restart the computer after the patch. Works like a charm, although no one on thepublic servers that I could find uses the voip at all.....

Dont worry they are patching that Helo thing soon Fanny. Wont be able to do that soon. And for the record I cant fly the Helo's for shit either. Oh and soooo much H8 for artillery in that game.

I play it alot, in process of moving though, so won't be active till I'm setup, maybe hook up for a game in a few weeks :D

I've been playing for a week or so. But only online one night. It's really fun. I suck terribly.

Remember to play on the ranked servers. You can filter for it during multiplayer server searchs. Higher rank = weapon unlocks. So far I've only unlocked the new Medic weapon. Very handy twixt my rezzing folks I tell ya.

How exactly does their "exp" system work, anyways? This first rank seems to be moving disgustingly slow, unless I find a good squad to hang with.

Okay, there are positive point rewards and of course negative.


Positive ( and I'm off the cuff here, my notes are at home)

2 points per kill
2 points per veh taken out while occupied
2 points for flag capture and neut.
1 point for assists ( kills/flags etc etc)
2 points for using defib on prone teammate
1 point per use of healing kit

etc etc etc

You can get big time hammered on points for Teamkills. Even when I'm being cautious once in awhile I pop a teammate. They can then punish you, enough punish points and you get kicked from that server for the day.

Oh, and getting rank is SLLLLOOWWWWW. Key is to get a good balanced squad and rotate around getting flags. I like to find a high conflict zone and chain rez folks. Occasionally getting to nail a ton of baddies with a few grenades!!

Ahhhh and use Divo in server name as well as Rank checked. There ya'll will find 64 player maps. I tend to hang out in those atm.

Ah, cool, thanks. I've become extremely adept at luring people into my helicopter death traps. I wish I got points for that. :(

There are a few things with the team kills. They pretty much always punish you. Also there are assholes that stand infront of your vehicle till you either get out so they can get in or you run them over and team kill...and get punished. There are some wierd things also, like I shot a helicopter down once...and it landed on a team mate and killed him...team kill. Anoying stuff like that.

Overall though great game.

I play heavily... I play on the BlackOps Ranked server....

The only time I've done it is when it was obviously blatant griefing. I had some dude repeatedly knifing me earlier today. Pretty clear cut case. ;)

If you're going to fly, you have to have a joystick, it makes things so much easier. I straight rape people with the helo, and jets now.

Just unlocked the assault rifle today, I definitely like that thing. It sucks that you lose the grenade launcher though. :( Anyone unlocked the improved sniping rifle?

I unclocked the improved shot gun for the anti tanks. By far my favorite gun in the game.

Medic unlock is nice. Fairly accurate and uses the sniper like scope.

I am just recently starting to play the medics, support, engineers and assault troops more. The medic gun isnt half bad, im not crazy about the assault troops guns, but I like the grenade launcher.

The only thing I cant stand about alot of those kits is there is nothing they can do against tanks.

I had originally planned on getting the medic unlock, but I don't play the medic as much as I did initially. Was a good way to get points while I figured out how to play the game, but I like the assault class a lot more. I've gotten the hang of the assault unlock by now I think, and I don't miss the grenade launcher so much anymore. I've been able to take people down pretty consistently from about 200 meters with that thing, and it works as well as any of the other assault rifles at close range. How's the medic gun for sniping, Fandros?

Works better than you'd expect. Not much recoil and I can accurately snipe folks at a goodly distance. Say from one USMC starting camp to another in Gulf of Oman.
