I got kinda a weird question that I cant really seem to find a way to answer myself... I have a few Internet radio stations that I listen to, and I was wondering if there is a way to record the music as I listen to it? Maybe something a little more advanced than sticking my mic next to the speakers and hitting record in Microsoft Sound Recorder? :p This is one area of computer-use I feel totally helpless.. I got this Sound Blaster Live thingy with the Live Drive thingy.. and Ive never once used any of the plugs.. or jacks.. or whatever you call em on the front there.. they just sit there :p So now I wanna do something - whats the best way to do it?

Oh and dont say "just download the music off of Kazaa", its classical, and very hard to find on any peer-to-peer service - Ive tried.

Use the line out.

You will catch whatever other sounds your computer makes too, so disable any sound themes.

I have an easier way...

www.jajsoft.com (http://www.jajsoft.com)

Down load there internet boombox radio player. it searches the net and finds all the free streaming sites in MP3 and playes em for you. its freeware. plus you can record all song into a file. it playes through like winamp. search my music styles. I even found a 24/7 Jerky boys station. if you have highspeed it sounds like a CD. my dial up gives me AM quality..LOL but it's tolerable.

There is a way to record the internet radio through windows media player I think.... I'll have to find out the details from my bf. He has done it before but I never did. :)

EDIT: Sig is too big. No larger than 450x150 please.

Use the line out.

Urp I dont have a stereo so Im not sure what I would do with that honestly.. Plug the line out into the line in? Could I even listen to it while I did that? Sounds like a huge headache. Im not even certain I would have the cabling that I might need.

Im lovin the Boombox radio player however! Gonna take some time to go through all this stuff but I think Itll be worth it :) Thanks Os :)

Creative sound cards have a "what-u-hear" recording feature on them, works ok..

older versions of winamp (i think pre v2.65) do support direct recording of MP3 streams to hardrive... and of course the freeamp player
