We're going to try to move Ayonae.com onto a newer server. I'll be putting updates as we move closer to it, but the good news is that we'll have plenty of space and processing power. I've allocated some room for Ayonae.com on a 8-core Xeon 5400 series 2.8 GHz processor server with 16GB of FB-DIMM 800Mhz ECC RAM. Hopefully, it should be enough computing power for a simple forum with 5-6 users accessing it on average.
It will also sustain a lot better to attacks. This server is a development/pre-production server and it's also three years old. I'm moving Ayonae.com to one of the production servers in our data center, protected by a Cisco ASA firewall. It should help us avoid some of the spambot attacks we've managed to survive.
We're going to try to keep the same IP address to avoid DNS changes. I think this will be very likely--and if it's not, I'll still keep this server up and figure something out. I'll talk to our IT people about it (special arrangement with departmental friends ;)).
