Looking for some good ideas. I'm not exactly an artist, but I'll try to do my best to come up with a clean style. (We'll have a "work-safe" layout too, so please give me ideas on that)

By the way, is anyone good with logos? if you are, please upload your work here. The logo should contain "Ayonae Ro Forums" (preferably in a game or RPG font) presented in some sort of fantasy theme. If you win, I'll give you a board title and move you to membership class 3 along with the ability to get every single Naruto episode, including new ones that come out from Dattebayo and AnimeOne. If they're really, really good, I'll send you a $25 Amazon.com Gift Certificate. If the board admins think a second place is warranted, second place winners will get a $10 gift certificate (second place logos will probably be reserved for work-safe logos). Assume we'll be using a dark background. Ideal dimensions: ~ 100 - 200 x 150 - 250 pixels Work safe logos should be under a bright background.

We'll have the board vote on the top 5. Then the board admins/mods will vote on the top 2.

Deadline: By April 14, 2005.

Fine print: All submissions become the property of Ayonae Ro Forums. We reserve the right to use any part of any entry in our final design. It is also possible we may not use any part of any entry in our final design. In any event, the prizes will be awarded to those designs we feel are most representive of our board. All decisions are final. You may enter as many unique designs as you like, but all submissions need to be sent in separately. The prize award is open to residents of the United States only. Void were prohibited by law.

File format: for posting to the board, use GIF, PNG, or JPEG. For the final version, use Illustrator or Photoshop (CorelDraw users convert to Illustrator please). EPS may be accepted if I'm not lazy. Please try to use as many vector graphics as you can. We might use your logo for tee-shirts too, so make it so that it's not ... inappropriate (please, no Buyza type logos with pieces of male anatomy sticking out or female "art"). If we don't get at least five to ten submissions from different people, I reserve the right not to give a cash prize. If the logos just downright suck, we reserve the right to disqualify everyone.

I started working on a logo. I'm entering myself in the contest (Yes, I'm a dork). Don't expect it to be good--this is coming from an engineer....

Let's see what the poll says in a day or two. From all the comments back when we first set this up, I'd have assumed everyone wanted a dark background, but now it sounds more 50/50.

Hrm, now I'm confused :) Started working on something but are you looking for a logo or a header / banner? I was making a 2 color (positive negative) logo, like a branding.

I'd say anything up to about 700px wide would be fine, so we can accommodate 800x600 types. It should either look good centered or be something that looks good left (or right) justified at the top, so it doesn't look awkward at higher resolutions.

I think a banner is the idea, but it would be awesome if it had some smaller element that was logo-ish, that we could use in other areas by itself.

If you want to keep your logo a "surprise," that is, not letting anyone see your work until the 14th, feel free to email me at kiba136@gmail.com or send me a PM. Remember, you may submit as many entries as you want, but you can only win either first prize or second prize; you can't win both.

Please also keep the original Photoshop, Illustrator, or CorelDraw file in case we would like to make small modifications with your logo.

Thanks for working on this, folks!
