Anyhow, I'm back to the game after two years, and completely starting over.

I've noticed some VERY big changes in the game and was wondering if I could get some pointers.

First off, where is the most recent, most reliable source of information for Bards? I went to check EQDiva and it didn't seem like it's been kept up.

Also, is Alla's still the end all / be all of EQ info?

Thirdly, where do I download some good maps and how do I use them again? Yeah, yeah, I know, the old fart is after forgetting hehe.

And lastly, I understand there is some sort of command where you don't have to twist your songs anymore?!?! I'm still twisting, but if I don't have to flare up my carpul tunnel, I'd be quite happy about that.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I see I have a VERY steep climb to get back to where I was, so if there are any lowbie guilds out there (full of alts or actual low level toons) let me know, I'd love some company.

See ye all around!

As far as reliable information specifically for bards, I have no idea.

Allakhazams is one of the few sites out there still being regularly updated also. There are a few others I used to look at, when I was playing on progression a while back, but I always ended up back and allakhazams. End game content may be different, but I assume you won't need that info for a while.

For maps: http://www.mapfiend.net/allmaps

And the auto-twisting feature is called melody: Essentially you make a hotkey that says /melody # # # # where each number corresponds to a spell gem, and it'll autotwist those for you. I'm pretty sure that's how it works anyways.

I wouldn't be shocked if I was wrong about any or all of this info, so do what you want with it. Other than a month-long stretch on progression, I haven't played EQ for like 3 years.

http://forums.theconcerthall.net/ <------This is for Bard information. Kind of higher end bards, but I think it has some lame lowbie crap for ya.

Maps, I forget the site. Pretty sure you can just look around on a yahoo search engine. eqatlas. eqmaps. something similiar to that.

Melody is a cheat that dumbs down bards. Use it sparingly for some raid situations, two-boxing and kiting. Other then that, hell with /melody imo

God if I was to go back to Everquest, it certainly wouldn't be to play a bard. Twisting was nightmarish, there's far better ways to spend free time :)

Kelraz, you weren't listening. You don't have to twist anymore. /melody takes twisting out of the equation for those that can't handle it for long periods of time. Bards are the best class in EQ imo. Definitely the most versatile and desired in most situations.

If it wasn't for the bard class, I would have retired a long long long time ago.

Binuvan, you can send me a tell in game if you want. I might be able to uncomplicate a few things. Try to catch me before 8pm est though, that's when the raids start and I don't respond as eagerly to tells. :p

Welcome back, Bin:)

For maps, I always use www.eq-toolbox.com which seems to always have the up-to-date stuff in that area. (It is a link to Mapfiend)
