I'm as pissed as I've ever been over a damn game atm.

I played BF2 for months...quit due to the bunny hopping gits....well decided to come back with an entire new set of cd's for the game and the expansion (sf).

I can't get the damn thing to work and the blasted weak kneed heartless FAQ there is a piece of shit.

I click on the game link and all I get is a black screen that hangs up....all my drivers are updated......directx 9.0b is installed ( tried to do 9.0c but it won't show as installed).

Any suggestions?

Called EA tech support and they told me I need to get Directx 9.0c working.

So I called Microsoft and they wanted 35 bucks to talk to some gal who was pretending to be an English speaking native....could barely understand her.

Soooo been seeking help on the boards and researching the net myself.....yeah no help ugh

Had this problem here on Squishes computer with DX 9c. I believe it has to do with your video card not being being able to take the install.

Are you running XP? Also not sure where these line up with each other my video card is a Radeon X700 pro, I would think that yours is a bit newer or better so perhaps that is not the issue.

you may have to re-install xp in order to get the direct x update to work correctly

Gave up and took it to Totally Awesome computers yesterday.

Hopefully I'll be gunning down folks tonight!

Probably won't help since 9.0c sounds like the culprit but I have seen this problem with games after I slid the little bar in the ATI control panel a notch or 2 towards 'performance'. Once I set it back to the middle, game ran. Last game I saw this with was EAsports NHL 2006.

g'luck.
