For something a little more light hearted. when i was younger i would drink any swill the current party had to offer. thank the good lord that as i've grown older so have my taste's.
So as Summer swing's closer I thought it might be interesting to find out what folks taste's run too. that and give us a few ideas of some good stuff to keep an eye out for.
Domestics: my 2 current favorites are....
Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde, light easy drinking blonde with a distinct foretaste of strawberry. damn good stuff
Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, I've yet to meet a Sam's i didnt like but this one is the best i've found so far, sits a a bit heavier in the belly than the Pete's but has a distinct fruity over tone all it's own.
Widmer bros. Hefewiesen. I tend to be a huge fan of Heffies but even with all the canidates out there now "the Bro's" get my nod for having the simply best one.(anyone in the NW keep an eye out for the '06 Brewmasters release " NW red" pretty decent)
Imports: /drool
Aylinger Lager, so good I tend to drink it faster than I should. considering it's a true German import. not advisable;)
Honorable mention:
Shiner Bock, the fact that their in Texas and can still brew a decent beer simply blows me away.
Kona brewing company, their Long Board Lager is a decent easy drinking brew
Stienlager, if your a fan of the skunky Dutch style brews this keeps to that tradition while adding a bit more flavor.

I really really dislike that Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde. The fruity/beer(y?) contrast bothers me.
I'm a Philadelphia born lager fan - Yuengling is the natural choice.
And truthfully, I'm also a Woodchuck Cider fan - thats the one place I don't mind the fruitiness ... their Amber and their Pear ciders are awesome.

Imports: Too many to list. Top spot - Gulden Draak (http://www.wittekerke.com/web/body_pages/pages-beer/GuldenDraak/GuldenDraak.html), near the top - Guinness

I'd never tried Yuengling till I moved to PA and now it is pretty much the ONLY beer I will drink. And when you have to buy beer by the case here you best get something you really like haha.
Kidding aside it's damn good. Prior to that I'd only drink michelob. As far as imports go I do enjoy Heffeweisen(sp) and Tuborg.
I like beer but the older I get I seem to find myself around people who either drink wine or liquor. I'm the oddball at a dinner party with a Lager in hand while everyone else is sipping from those dainty little glasses.

Which Sam Adams Korlis? The standard Bostan Ale?

Ya the standard not big fan of any of their others really, although Sierra Nevada made an awsome Christmas Pale Ale I tried this year.

Did you ever have Sam Adams Old Fezzywig christmas ale? It was tasty. Their Oktoberfest brew is great too.

Nope Never tried them. I like hoppy beers like the pale ales. So if ya have any suggestions I'd be happy to try them.

I assume you've had blue moon belgian white. Sam Adams pale ale and spring ales are good.
Obviously I prefer darker beers, but I like just about anything that doesn't taste like Bud/Miller/Coors/etc. Don't like most German beers, as they get skunky by the time they get imported here.
My favorite cheaper beers are Honey Brown and Rolling Rock.

My wife likes the crappy bud/coors etc I hate them. I have tried Blue Moon and I like it also even if it is made by Coors. Ya I bought a couple German beers not long ago and ya they werent that great prolly skunked. I did get my wife to try a Rasberry Lambic and she liked that.
I have tried just about anything, there was a great restaurant in Portsmouth from when I lived in Norfolk that had over 200 different beers. We used to go there after we got off work and spend a few hours trying different beers. I even tried a mead and a grog they had I actually liked them but a little too surupy for me. Lambics are good also umm I cant remember the other type of beer it is German and very high in Alcohol content. They had one there that was 23% alcohol and actually tasted very good.

If you're looking for "summer beer", nothing says barbecue like Singha to me. It's a thai beer, but it's always been readilly available in any country I've ever been to. Nothing quenches thirst better.

I have a couple cases of wine in the rack at all times, hehe.
As far as beer, I drink Leinenkuegel Original.
There is an Japanese beer made with rice rather than hops that is very smooth; I believe the name is Sapporo, or something like that. I spent a night in Tokyo drinking it like water because of how smoothly it went down, and the next morning I would swear I had been intimate with a Mac truck.

Fat Squirrel or Spotted Cow very good.

There are so many good microbrews in the U.S. now, it is a vastly different landscape than it was in the 90s. Odds are good that if you live in a city of any size at all, there is a brewery making good beer in your home town. And when it comes to beer, one thing remains true: All other things being equal, fresh beer beats bottled beer every time. In fact, many beers that suck ass in bottles have a very different character when pulled from a fresh keg.
Also, the introduction of those "draught cans" that some beers come in has done good things for beer bought from a shelf.
With that little nugget in mind, I'll list some beers that remain delicious in bottled form. Most of them are high strength ales, bottled with secondary fermentation in mind:
Skullsplitter Orkney Ale (Scotland)
Many different kinds of Trappist ale and their knockoffs: Orval, St. Sixtus, Duvel, etc. (Belgium)
Most Lambic Beer (noticing a trend favoring Belgium here, hmm...)
Royal Oak (England)
Taquair House Ale (Scottish)

Beer sucks.
I used to think so till I discovered unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer and Mexican beers like Corona and Dos Equis.
An ironic twist, the best hefeweizen I've had was about a week ago at a Cajun (!) restaurant in Portland. Penn Hefeweizen. We were going on and on about how much better it was than the Widmar. The waitress agreed with us so much she brought us a fifth one we didn't order (she thought we were going after a 6-pack).
Not sure if I like Mexican beers because they're styled after German beers or if it's because of the lime. I always take a wedge of lemon with my hefeweizen.

Corona... I haven't been really big on Corona since my last trip to Tijuana...

Gotta say when i was in FLA. i drank Yuengling a bit and found it a great beer. little tavern i frequented there had it and Sam's boston lager on tap for $1.50. beer drinkers heaven when coupled with the very busty bartenders.
*tip* whenever out and having a cold one ALWAYS sit at the bar stool across from the glass washing station =)

Up here in Boston I really enjoy a Harpoon IPA, Guinness, or a Harpoon UFO (Unfiltered Offering) which is a hefeweizen "summer" beer that you can pop a lemon in. It's a cloudy wheat beer that is splendid ice-cold.
Sam Adams used to be king but my tastes changed away from the sugary beers and I don't miss it a bit.
Bud makes me gag. College warm / flat keg beer was always Bud and the stink in the AM turns my stomach and the only difference between warm old stank keg Bud and a freshly opened bottle is about 40 degrees. I could drink Miller lite all day though...go fig.

Forgot to mention a recent addition to my fav list: Old Speckled Hen.
It's a traditional English Ale in the image of a Guinness. It has the rich foamy head you normally see in a Murphy's or Guinness but in an Ale.

Happen to have a couple cans in the fridge atm. It is a nice ale, not one I would put at the top of my list, but this is about personal tastes and I will tip my hat to someone who has found this one to be to their liking.

Stouts are ales.
I think the Speckled Hen's head benefits from the "draught can" greatly; it is a great invention, and negates the practice of using injected CO2 to form a head. Injected CO2 makes for a crappy head, the nitrogen systems in those draught cans really do lend a kind of smoothness and creamy character to the beers in which they are used.

Wow , nice link thanks Esbat. was really cool to see so many Rogue Ale's on that list. just tried the Alaskan summer ale off the list last night. good beer smoothe and easy drinking , but nothing special. went well with the 17 OZ. top i must admit =).
Should be heading down to the import store later today so will be able to grab a nice selection of brands to review.
Hell i might even spend $20 on those tiny bottles of Mead to give something to report on.

HAHA. I'm that way with Jagermeister. Drank almost a whole bottle before going out for the night. All was good until my date (Wife now) told everyone that I was drinking it before she picked me up. Needless to say the shots started to magically show up in front of me. Can't believe I was able to walk to the car so she could drive me home. She still makes fun of me for the dinosaur calling and the crawling from bathroom to bedroom that night. :D
Heineken is the beer of choice in our house.

In most cases, beer-wise, if I can see through it I don't drink it. There are exceptions (Traquair House Ale being a standout), but I mostly drink stouts and porters when I drink beer.
Young's Double Chocolate Stout (especially if you can find it on draft, tho' the nitrogen cans are decent as well).
Rogue's Shakespeare Stout and Mocha Porter
Francoise Lambic is good stuff as well.
Celebrator was a favorite double bock, tho' I haven't had it much in recent years.
Esbat and another local friend home brew, so I get a lot of good amateur stuff. Mostly I drink scotch, bourbon, wine and champagne these days, tho' I'm impressed by the Captain Morgan's Private Stock.

I have a friend who is a girl (not girlfriend) who drinks Jager like it's a beer. She's a DJ for a radio station and when we hit the clubs they know how she likes her drinks. A pint of Jager with a pint of diet coke. She sips the Jager and then sips on her diet coke. She does it all night long and it makes me sick to watch her lol. She refuses to drink beer or any other kind of liquor. When a guy buys her a shot of Jager she smiles and thanks him and just pours it in her glass she won't shoot it.
I think it tastes like cough syrup ick.

This gold, amberish liquid is sublime. It's a peach beer called Lindeman's Peche Lambic. It's only found in the gourmet and artsy outposts in Phoenix and Scottsdale, such as La Grande Orange (bottled), Delux (tap), et al.
If you're in Phoenix, and you're over 21, I'll treat one of you to a drink at Delux. They have about 40 beers on tap. Delux is a special bar in that the star beers here are the 40 or so globe-spanning brews on tap, and not a Bud, Miller or Coors among them. Especially nice are the four beer flights, which showcase a trio of 5-ounce tastes. Flight Four--for the "Bold & Adventurous"--combines together Horny Devil, a high-alcohol ale; Rogue Dead Guy, a malty Oregon ale; and Arrogant Bastard, a hoppy California dark beer.
