I've been shopping around for a good web hosting service, and I am considering www.1and1.com (http://www.1and1.com) . Has anyone used their service before? It sounds pretty decent, 1gig of space, 25gigs of bandwidth, etc for only 4.99$ a month.

Or do you guys recommend a different service?

who is mike gaddis? if you're willing to go with dreamhost, I can get you the 2.4 gig space + 120gig xfer for about 10 bucks for your first YEAR. sounds like you're set on 1on1 but PM if you change your mind.

I've used both services, for myself and customers, and they are nearly identical though I'd tend to favor 1and1 for those that require a higher end solution. Not in regards to uptime, but physical accessability, rack space, managed servers, etc.

Personally, though, I have been using DreamHost and have no complaints thus far and would recommend them to anyone.
