So I wonder. Now that we outsource the manufacturing of most of our military supplies IE; uniforms, boots etc to chinese manufacturers will our soldiers fight naked and barefoot in a war with China?
If China were to make a military move against Taiwan it would be quite the crisis.

As sad as this sounds, it might take a war with China to get our old manufacturing jobs back stateside.

Why do you want them back? So we can lower our standard of living?

there are alot of people that have lost manufacturing jobs over the last decade that have had to settle for much lower paying jobs. Sure, if the jobs came back state side we'd have to pay more for the stuff we want, but we'd have more jobs. The shrinking middle class can be traced back to the loss of manufacturing jobs in this country. Sure there are more jobs now, if you want to work in food service, but you can't tell me those jobs don't pay less than the manufacturing jobs that have been lost.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying going to war with china is the answer, it was just a snide comment in response to the taiwan thing and rover's comment about our boots and uniforms.

Man what a tease. I was totally hoping this thread would be about how Jack Burton and Wang had to rescue Wangs girl and defeat the 3 storms and David Lo Pan.. . .

This will be interesting to watch.
If China does take Taiwan by force, we won't be reading about young Taiwanese dieing from extended gaming sessions in Internet cafes.
