About fucking time...
Of course it does not account for the first two years of his life in "dreams of my father" being a complete lie.. Does not account for ALL of his college records being sealed.
I get the feeling after 3 years he is just trying to get ahead of something... Especially with Corsi's book coming up. This is truly a Nixon moment releasing SOME of the tapes...lol

What saddens me is that in a sense, the fringe "won" in that they were so fucking annoying to everyone that Obama finally made a special request to bypass the normal Hawai'i state rules for these things and get actual certified copies produced so that he could stop this nonsense that is wasting everyone's time and money.
The amusing part is that the Dept of Health for Hawai'i was more than happy to provide this exception since they've apparently been inundated by requests for copies of the birth certificate from both the media and private parties.
The sad part is Trump is trying to turn this into some sort of victory for him - "I finally got him to produce this", when all he's been doing the whole time is saying that Obama wasn't born here. I really do hope Trump or Palin wins the Republican primary - at least then it'll be a really really amusing presidential run.

Change your party affiliation to Republic and be sure to vote for one of them in the primary :)

Actually, I don't think it would be amusing at all. It would mean that this bunch is even stupider than I though possible.:devil

I think that Trump representing the Republican party would be all sorts of appropriate. Trump/Palin 2012 for the Republicans! It's the ideal confluence of blowhard and idiot that this country needs.

Why did/does Obama try sooooo hard to cover up his past? You can get any info you want about Kerry/Bush/McCain et al, but Obama? Not a thing and it takes years of poking and prying by patriots to get even this simplest of forms released? What is Obamer hiding?
And no.. I'll not be voting for Trump.

Depends on your state. Check your Secretary of State's website.

Obama isn't hiding anything... its just that for the first time, all you racists have something to do on a national stage.

People that didn't believe Obama is legit will still not buy it even now. It just won't matter what is presented. Once people have it engrained in their heads there is no rooting it out. The Best part is they still vote.
So grats to Trump, who probably would have claimed victory either outcome. If Trump is the GOP's best shot...well give me a fucking break. Might as well nominate Side Show Bob from "The Simpsons". If the GOP can nominate someone who isn't a twit, a douche, a religious wacko or just plain ole old vanilla WASP guy in a red power tie who does nothing but read out of the ideology playbook because anything else requires thought, well we might get somewhere.

That was my first impression too, but it apparently has satiated at least some of the crazies. One of them, who usually forwards all sorts of Obama-is-a-Kenyan-Muslim emails to me, forwarded this to me today: http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/APNewsAlert/2011/04/27/id/394225
I'll be happy to stop getting at least one category of "you should have Snopes'd this before sending it to 100 people" emails from him.

Correct me if I am wrong, McCain produce even less 'proof' than Obama has at this point (Long and short versions of certificate, a couple doctors sworn statements, state of Hawaii certification.) and people were okay with that.

Why are you juding me based on race? I don't judge Omama's eligibility based on his race, just his place of birth. I think you are clearly the racist in this group. The second the left uses "you're a racist" they instantly lost the argument.

I fucking love this story, and can't help but think Carville is reading my mind.
How hard was it for the President to produce this? Not at all. He could have done it whenever he wanted. Why do something like this unless he's going to get something out of it?
Sure, he got the chance to rehash his budget plans and got his points repeated in every story, bolstering his core a little bit, but the best gains are far more subtle. What dickhead's face is all over the news right now AND running for the Republic nomination? Donald Trump is a train wreck waiting to happen, and I'm sure our President and his staff deliberately set this guy up to be the hero, to be the Republican front runner. I'm sure they know he'll never stand a chance in the general elections, and if he doesn't win the nomination his ego will have grown a bit through this scenerio that could hopefully lead to him running as an Independant and splitting the votes.

In Ohio, you have to declare for a party and then can only vote in that party's primary. At least it used to be that way, I haven't tried to vote in the other party's primary in a few years.

Because you never demanded such things from any other president but for some reason the black guy is required to prove his citizenship to you and your ilk even though he has proven it to the people that matter already.

I've often thought this would be a great strategy for independents, especially in state races. In AZ you can vote for either party in the primary, except in presidential elections.

Just the fact that two Americans are arguing so passionately about this issue is fine illustration of how messed up politics is in this country. Our corrupt government hasus peons so caught up in petty nonsensical splitting issues to take our focus off of what is really happening in this country. Birthers, Abortion, Gay marriage, et. al. are a subtrefuge to distract the masses away from the corrupt politicians and corporate mega rich feeding on the corpse of America.
...okay now that that is out of the way...how about the NFL draft and the lockout is that c=going to continue. We need to focus on real issues....oh, wait a sec....;)

My favorite part about birthers is that they do not realize that they only help the Democrats by acting so nutty.
Believe it or not, there are reasonable, well-educated Republicans that exist. People like you scare the shit out of them.

My question is......why is it so important that a person MUST be born on US soil to become President? Arnold Schwarzenegger turned out to be a really good Governor didn't he? And the only thing preventing him from becoming President is where he was born? Something he has no control over? I can appreciate where that rule came from, but given the global village we live in now, country of birth hardly matters anymore, and it certainly shouldn't prevent a good leader from taking command.

Because one party is terrified of Obama (two parties, if the Republicans and Tea Party are separate in your mind), and will do anything to find a way to discredit him, whether it's his birth, his faith, or his experience. Odd how much they harped on his supposed Muslim faith, when that IS protected in the Constitution. Still - the argument was never about why, it was about finding some way to stick our heads in the sand and blindly vote GOP again, and do anything to keep that other out of power.

Since the US was designed to be a nation of immigrants they wanted someone wholly American and not be holden to concepts or ideals from "back home". also it is to prevent foreign power from maneuvering a loyalist into a position of power as commander in chief and subvert an attack on our sovereignty.
Seems they were a bit paranoid after all. and NO Arnie was not a good governor. he appeared so in some ways because he was very moderate on many issues but failed to work with the legislature on anything and bleated the tax cut BS that left CA. with deeper budget issues.

This is basically the same mindset as that of the Gingrich-Hyde circle that saw nothing wrong with wasting +$106million of taxpayer money in an attempt to find anything they could to discredit and/or embarrass President Clinton. It is more about sour grapes and vindictiveness than it is anything else. The GOP cannot abide the idea that the populace would actually want someone other than their chosen candidate.
And Binny, you might want to check Governor Arnold's report card more closely; I have not seen any glowing critiques, but have heard more than once that he was one of the worst.....however, I am taking that with a grain of salt considering what he inherited from his predecessors, much like President Obama was handed down a mess from President Bush.

Arnold was one of the worst in my lifetime for Cali. Why?
I'm not arguing for or against him, I really dont have any idea if he was good or bad, but all I ever see is people saying "he was pretty damned good", or "he was really bad/the worst", but no reasons why, and honestly I'm rather curious as to why he was good or bad.
