If you're looking for unlicensed anime downloads, you should try going to the sites of fansubbing groups. Although fansubs are illegal by provisions of USC Title 17 and the revised Berne Convention, it is a generally-accepted principle that as long as they are not sold for a profit and promptly destroyed after the title has been licensed to an American corporation, it is considered an effective way to promote a title. Most American localization firms and Japanese production companies have allowed fansubs to exist if the above conditions have been met. In fact, many translators have been recruited from fansubbing groups. However, if you are financially capable and enjoyed the title, please show your support to the production companies by buying their releases.

If you would like to learn more about fansub groups and where you can download the torrents for their releases, visit this link (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17).

If you are interested in Naruto (considered to be one of the most addictive animes to have ever been created), I have found ANBU translations to be the most accurate aside for a few small exceptions (as my college minor was in Japanese and Chinese); their version of Naruto is considered to be the authoritative English sub. You can visit their site here (http://www.anbudom.net/) and download their torrents here (http://a.scarywater.net/anbu/).

If you are interested in a large repository of unlicensed anime titles, click here (http://a.scarywater.net/).
