Anyone else hear about this (http://www.nynewsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/sns-ap-chain-saw-border,0,1673384.story?coll=nyc-nationhome-headlines)?

A guy with bloody weapons in his possession is allowed through the gate, but my shoes are a threat to national security.

"Our people don't have a crime lab up there. They can't look at a chain saw and decide if it's blood or rust or red paint."

I'm not a criminal expert, but can't you say less than 48 hours after the crime (and considering you had 2 hours to examine the "tools") if something reddish is blood or not?

I've seen a lot of blood, and while most of it was fresher than 48 hours, distinguishing it from red paint or (especially) rust just isn't that difficult. I think they're stretching for excuses here.

Dang I try to bring back 2 extra bottles of tequila and you think i am smuggling drugs yet that guy was let on in.... I gues they figured bah he is canadian with their lil beady eyes and flappy heads how could he be dangerous. I bet halo will come and say his parents were americans and that is why he did what he did but if his parents were amercian he would have used a gun !

He actually had Duel American/Canadian citizenship. Neither group can try and pawn him off on the other here.
