Loved it!

While I naturally have lots of questions, I am willing to accept the final act.
It is almost more satisfying to be able to ascribe a meaning of my own to Starbuck.

They did one hell of a job on this series.

/salute

Aye, just watched it and given the amount of time they had, I believe they did the series end justice.

On a side note, I noticed adverts for Caprica on DVD. I thought it was going to be a new series?

Okay so the music was a set of numerical coordinates for the final FTL jump.

I "think" Starbuck , after her return, was an angel of sorts akin to Baltar and 6's visions to each other.

150k years later, clearly those were the angels that visited Baltar and 6 right? They intimated knowledge of "God" and well 150k years of life is clearly above normal life span ;P

Aye, it might have been a little preachy, but on the other hand it's not like we, as a race, are doing a great job in promoting a world of peace, harmony and brotherly love.

Oh well, bring on the toasters! :)

I thought they said it was going to be a Stargate spinoff, but then they were running so many commercials on top of each other it got confusing.

I am looking forward to the two hour special showing the evolution from the Cylon point of view.

Caprica is a new series... however the opening will be a DVD special that is like a 2 hour or 4 hour season opener of sorts, with a season to start later in the year or next year.

The Finale was everything I was hoping, dreading, and needing it to be. A true masterpiece that I will not soon forget :(

Best single show/movie I have ever seen.

Is Battlestar Galactica: The Plan just a movie?

I loved it. Might have even noticed a slight onset of allergies when Adama slipped the ring on her finger. A great episode with action and character, capturing the best of the series. Placing the climax so far from the end of the episode was an interesting decision, but it worked. And, just to keep us wondering, they threw in that last little conversation to raise questions.

It was awesome. Well done. I'm happy they tied everything up the way they did. Some surprises for sure. We cried during a couple of scenes glad to hear some of you admit your sensitive sides. I'm ready for a box set of the whole series now and could easily spend my free time watching it beginning to end some weekend.

I liked it.

On a side note, they called God "it". I wonder if my singularity theory has merit? ; p

I noticed that also. They jumped way into the future just like they did with Babylon 5 ... which I liked...

I glad they didnt wrap it all up when they called a truce in Galactica. That would have been weak,
I am surprised (and kinda disappointed) that they didn't kill off a major character.

All in all though, I thought it was very well done.

Well, I thought the chief getting some insight into a past event, and exacting retribution, came close to meeting that piece of plot.

And I still have not figured out if they did kill off Starbuck or not.

I think it was only sentimentality on the part of the writers and director that allowed the President to make it all the way, and not succumb to her disease just before they realized their goal.

I still have to say I loved it. :D

While it's unclear whether Starbuck was ever human, the evidence, going back to when she had to retrieve the Arrow, suggests that she was an 'angel', so to speak, or rather, as Lee Adama's last flashback illustrated, a divine homing pigeon - part of the machinery put in place by 'god's' handmaiden and master to lead the human and cylon peoples to their Promised Land (or the next iteration of the meat matrix ;) ). I'm reminded of Gene Wolfe's Severian with regard to how her seeming defiance of death was handled, right down to the death and reincarnation, and dawning awareness of her nature. Is it the finger, or the line it draws in the sand that is important? (the moving finger writes, and having written, moves on...)

As far as the finale as a whole goes, I felt the end was a bit *too* neat given all that led up to it, although certainly sentimental. And poor moribund President Laura showed that she had the biggest brass balls of all of them right up until the end... What a pleasure it has been to watch Mary Mc Donnell and Edward James Olmos in such pithy roles over the course of the series, and despite the occasional overworked episodes it was really nice to see such an *adult* series on television, in the best sense of the word. And I was glad to see the Chief get his vengeance as well... ;)

I can't think of any other (fiction) show I've been interested in many years to the degree that BSG held my attention, and I'm sorry to see it go...

Regards,
Nydia

/applaud Nydia well said.

I really enjoyed the finale and am far sorrier to see this version go than I was the last one. Hopefully it's success will herald the return to well written SciFI and the death of the reality show.

I think you nailed it Nydia. This was a grown-up series and the audience was broader than that of a typical sci-fi show. My Saturday mornings will have a void for a while. I could never watch this show as it happened I needed to DVR it first then skip thru commercials so I always watched it first thing on Saturdays. I really hope something else comes along that can fill the void.

I liked the Chief's revenge.. but thought its timing was a bit odd.

I had a friend who used to watch ask me how it ended. I tried to sum it up in a few text messages and realized how ridiculous the whole thing sounds when you don't have every little detail, heh.

It was as good an ending as I would have expected. A great, deep series. However, I admit I would have scoffed at the idea of destroying all the technology and spreading all out around the planet!

I think I liked the ending, I've watched it a couple of times now and am still turning over a few of the events in my mind.

Ultimately however, it was an amazing series and I am sad to see it go. I'm not sure I care for what I saw about Caprica, but I know I will still watch it. I'm a glutton for punishment that way.

I absolutely cannot wait until "The Plan" miniseries(episode?) comes out.

So thank you to everyone at BSG and SCIFI for bringing us a fantastic show. Now, can you bring back Firefly please?
