but what the Washington Post doesn't include is this little gem

There is a good chance that if they don't figure this shit out, every soldier, sailor, airman and marine out there will get a big fat "No Pay Due" for April.
Political suicide anyone?

Maybe those ladies should have saved the money they spent on that overpriced Coach stuff.

Everyone except for the new Tea Party Freshman are dead set on no shutdown. The only reason its a story is because the Tea Party folks keep bringing it up (and hoping for it) - but the reality is the majority of the House aren't dumb enough for it to happen. They've already passed a few extensions - they'll keep passing them. Its really a non-issue.
*edit* Even if they do shut the government down, and no one gets paid ... when they start back up again they'll issue massive checks to everyone to cover the down time and future pay. But of course the cost of a shut down is so expensive they'll never do it. Don't worry about it.

Don't worry about it doesn't pay my bills. I know I'll get back pay in the event it happens, I Know I can use the SSRA to keep the bill collector's at bay. It doesn't change the fact that I'm going to have to mail things, fax things, probably pay late fees up front and beg/threaten to sue to get refunded them later.
I am so fucking sick and tired of our politicians bickering about ultimately inconsequential shit like whether or not Susey needs a clean coat hanger or a rusty one.
It's the economy retards.

The entire budget being balanced isn't hinged on Planned Parenthood, that's extremely misinformed.
There wasn't a shutdown weeks ago, they've passed extensions a few times already, you're overlooking all of the facts while over sensationalizing the whole situation.

These "hard" budgetary choices would be much simpler if fewer people were paid directly from tax revenues. It's staggering to think that the Federal Government alone, not counting the military, has more employees than our largest private employer (Wal-Mart) has worldwide.

Imagine how much money we could get if our tax laws didn't cause companies to incorporate overseas. Or, if we did a better job at reigning some of those loop holes in.

Obviously we need to invade Iran then, because they don't have any Gays there, so they must have deported all of theirs to the US. BOMB EM!
