- What a horrible, horrible idea. Joss always said how the producers and financers *cough* Kuzui and friends *cough* ruined the original Buffy movie and warped his creation into a commercial, teen comedy. This would be equally lame, and I can't help but think that it would detract from Whedon's more wonderful creation.

Ugh.

/sigh

If they want to do a next generation "Slayer", fine....just leave 'Buffy' out of it, and make it an entity of it's own which it will never be as long as they maintain the connection to that which has already entertained us.

I tihnk I remember seeing some sort of poll on it, it was a resounding no I won't go see it which is why they'll do it, then when it flops pack up the rights and nothing else will ever happen with Buffy again

While maybe a bit off-topic, this is certainly more 'Buffy'-worthy news.

The new TV Guide has a piece on the 100 top television episodes of all time, and Buffy's "Once More, with Feeling" came in at number 14. Apparently there are more out there that think this wasa an Emmy-worthy episode.

I'll be the first to say I'll be not watching this, but not for the same reasons as the other people in this thread. I won't be watching it because I couldn't stand the original show either.

Blasphemy!

I refused to watch this show until season 3. I was forced to watch by my girlfriend at the time and became instantly hooked. I totally regretted not watching from the beginning.

The Collector's Box set of the entire series is a prized piece of my video library now, and whenever I am bored I can grab one of the DVD's and watch a couple episodes and be entertained.

Same here, Byl. One of my prized possessions, besides the Angel one, of course :P Oh, and the Bones boxset (got a lot of boxsets!).

If we're sick of the tele, or bored of movies, these are quickly thrown on. Nothing beats a Buffy Season 2 marathon, though Season 4 has been my fav for a while (despite hating the whole Initiative/Riely arc when it was first aired). Angel Season 1, IMO, is almost as good as the best Buffy season.

Oh, and here's an update on the Buffy reboot, and season 2 of dollhouse, by Joss: http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/06/joss-whedon-buffy-dollhouse-1.html

I am currently on disc 5 of season 2, and I really liked the way they brought Darla back, and used Drusilla in the game.

Unfortunately, I found the last 4 episodes of Season 2 a real let down. I didn't like the whole 'Pylea' storyline. The Darla storyline, however, is fantastic. I think 'Dead End' is on disc 5, which is one of the best eps of the season, IMO, when Lindsey and Angel team up temporarily, the ending especially is top notch 'cops suck'! The ones before that, 'Reprise' and 'Epiphany', are classics. Dark Angel - we love him!

I've been watching Angel on TNT, or one of those cable networks that shows reruns of law and order all day...., and must say I liked it from start to finish...never watched Buffy consistently on TV, I must admit....

Welcome to the Buffy booster club.

It really got to be fun watching how the characters were developed and took on their own varied aspects over the seasons.

Welcome, our young apprentice. Wisdom, you have.

Best episode of season 1? Definately 'Angel', or 'The Pack'! Have fun - tell us what you think!!

I feel like I've turned into a 15 year old girl or something. I read the first half of Twilight at my wife's request recently as well, although I was less hooked on that. Some might say violently ill.
