I think I'm going to vomit. Maybe I'm taking this out of context as I did not have time to read the whole article, but on the way to work that was the headline on one of the Toronto Star's sections. It stated that this was said by his GOP cronies. However, even out of context, to even use the two words "Bush" and "Churchill" in the same sentence is insulting to what was truly one of the all time great politicians and a TRUE wartime leader.

Now, I don't think that Bush is a particularly bad president, but comparing him to a valiant, charismatic, and educated individual like Winston Churchill truly degrades his legacy. Bush probably has a vocabulary of maybe 100 or so words; he can't give a speech to save his life unless someone has written one for him. You can almost see the puppet strings jerk when he talks. Has anyone ever listened or read a Winston Churchill speech? It's like comparing a monkey to a human.. True wartime leader?? Uh, Britain, vastly outgunned and outnumbered, containing more burning rubble than standing buildings, manages to stay the course and keep morale high, persevering until the war was finally ended. Last time I checked, there weren't hundreds of Iraqi bombers flying over Washington dropping incindiary bombs over it's populace. To even refer to both wars using the same word (wartime) is insulting.

I'm not American, but if I was I would have still voted for Bush. I still consider him to be the lesser of two evils, and I believe that what ever his reasoning, the invasion of Iraq was warranted. However, based upon such an incredibly ignorant, prideful, and insulting statement, I would vote Barney the Dinosaur into presidency before Bush.

Heh, at that level of hyperbole you might as well be comparing a candidate to Jesus Christ.

Sadly these sorts of denigrations of truly great people only gets worse as the last living memory of them passes on. Just wait till someone compares Kerry to FDR :>
